McCracken County posted a record of 32-6 and finished as the top team in region 1 last season, but came up short once again to Sacred Heart in the Sweet 16 championship game. [player_tooltip player_id='978239' first='Ava' last='Hughes'] put up 6.5 PPG and shined bright in the state tournament. The talented freshman guard has big shoes to fill and her ability to make winning plays on both ends of the floor will be vital for the Lady Mustangs' success this season, with Claire Johnson and Mikee Buchanan now playing at the collegiate level.

North Oldham finished at .500 with a record of 17-17 in their 3rd season under Head Coach Mac McIntosh. As an 8th grader [player_tooltip player_id='963594' first='Greyson' last='Luehrs'] averaged 6.7 points per game and was the third-leading scorer for the Lady Mustangs. Greyson is known for her 3-point shooting ability. She shot 34.1% from deep and has 65 career made 3's. After losing Gracie Sipes and Katherine Smith to graduation, Greyson's scoring will be much needed this season.

Great Crossing lost 5 players from last years team to the transfer portal and graduation, so they will need [player_tooltip player_id='675265' first='Kendall' last='Kearney'] to step up in a big way. Kendall played in 28 games and averaged 4.8 points for the Lady Warhawks last season. I expect her to shoulder the load this season, with help from seniors [player_tooltip player_id='825676' first='Kennedy' last='Harrison'], the Henderson twins, and Keira Iriondo. (Featured Image)

Green County won 19 games in the 2023-2023 season and finished as a top 10 team in the 5th region. [player_tooltip player_id='903184' first='Scout' last='Brockman'] scored 7.6 points and pulled down a team-leading 6.2 boards per game. She also has 425 points and 417 career rebounds in two varsity seasons for the Dragons. Scout will see a significant boost in minutes this season after last years departing senior forward Allie Burris.

Hickman County will have to fill a huge void, after losing their leading scorer Justice Midyett to graduation. I believe Brooklyn Naranjo and freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1047779' first='Macy' last='Howell'] who averaged 5 points along with 5.9 rebounds last season will be relied on a lot more and will have to lead the Lady Falcons this season.
