Today is the halfway mark of these team breakdowns, and once these wrap up, we'll start the rankings update. However, we're focusing on Team Three in the 5v5 portion of the Top 2500 Expo, so let's get started.

The one player I noted as being vocal on the defensive end of the floor was Magloski. I loved that she was comfortable enough to direct traffic on the defensive end of the floor, and as a result, I thought her team played some of the best defensive possessions I saw at the event. I thought she shot the ball well on the other end, but being a vocal kid on the defensive kid around kids you may not know shows how much she cares.

I hadn't seen the Crivitz guard in person or remember seeing her off the top of my head, but I was impressed. Brand has the small-town grit to her game, where she chases after everything and always sticks with the play until the ball's dead. I loved that about her. She did a little of everything from creating off the dribble, rebounding, winning 50/50 balls, scoring, and being a solid all-around defender. She'll be a kid with options to play at the next level if that's the route she wants to take. The Wolverine had a standout first season and was a first-team all-conference performer in year one, and there's more to come from her over the next few seasons at Crivitz.

De Pere has always had talented guards and had enough backcourt talent to withstand losing one of the best guards in program history for a season and still stay in the top three of the FRCC. Hutjens was someone I thought had an excellent basketball IQ and understood how to get the most out of herself. The Redbird played at her own pace and never seemed to get sped up when I watched her play. I also thought she had an excellent understanding of everything happening around her. I'm not sure what role she'll have at De Pere, but there are positives in her game that make me think she could handle minutes at the varsity level.

An alum of the first Freshman Showcase last summer. Schmitz had one of the best motors at the event. The Manitowoc guard leaves everything on the floor, and she was more under control than I remember her being last year. I thought she played with more pace and utilized a change of pace in her offensive game. Her floater looked good each time I saw her throughout the day, and her energy on the defensive end is always second to none. She's an intriguing one to follow in the FRCC.
