In the music industry, successful groups that have been doing something for awhile go on this thing they call a “Comeback Tour.” It's an accumulation of all these hit songs, played on this tour across music venues around the country. Well, let's say Clarksville Academy is on a “Bounce Back Tour,” as they get back to their winning ways. It may take awhile to complete, but understand there is a solid foundation in place for good things to come. Rome wasn't built in a day, neither will CA.

Coached by Coach Clark, these Lady Cougars have had success over the years. Last year, was a down year, going 12-13 overall, 7-7 in the district, finishing 5th. They were in a lot of ball games, the ball just didn't bounce their way. This season, there is an overall on the roster, with majority freshmen that will gain valuable experience as they will be thrusted into competition. There is nothing wrong with that. It's either sink or swim. I will say this, this club as the right combination of youth on the boat and a great captain to lead the way.

Though this team will be young, expect them to play hard and be fundamentally sound. There will be mistakes made along the way, but they will work their way through them. Don't look at their numbers and think they are going to be a cake walk. These girls can play and have talent. If anything, they are going to compete from start to finish and let you know that this program is on the rise. This year will be a building year. Yes, they will take their lumps, but also expect them to win some games as well. They will finish in the middle of the pack, but most importantly, they will have laid a solid foundation for them to build upon for the future.

Here are some young ladies who will be suiting up for the Clarksville Academy Lady Cougars.

Feisty guard who has tight handles. Bud can fill it up from the arc, but possesses a downhill threat. She will get paint touches, unleash a nice floater game, and will conduct the offense making sure her or her teammates take shots with advantages. She is a tough defender, who will pick up the full length of the floor. As she goes, her team goes, Bud will be tasked with leading the Cougars and setting the tone for the ball club. Solid kid whose game continues to evolve.

Yes, she is the coach's daughter, but doesn't play like a typical coach's kid. You know, some kids just play because their dad or mom is the coach. Not this girl. She has earned everything. She is a heady ball player who has good court awareness. Can score it from multiple spots. Defend like crazy. Active hands and feet, eliminating the opposition. Layla will see significant minutes this upcoming year. Look for her to be involved in every statistical category.

Solid guard who is coming into her own. Plays with a lot of speed. Once she gets a hang of the high school game, she will be a solid contributor on both ends of the floor. She can shoot the 3, finish at the rim, but one thing for sure she plays tough defense. Solid kid who works hard.

Long and lanky wing who can play inside and out. Has a nice mid-range game, can finish around the rim, but can knock it down from the arc at a high clip. Solid rebounder, blocks shots, just brings a lot to the table. She will be the senior leader this upcoming season and wants to go out with a bang. Look for her to step up in a big way and lead the Lady Cougars in the majority of their games.

Athletic wing who is a tenacious defender. This kid is active and can turn an opponent over time and time again. I love her ability to defend, locking up the opposition. She brings that “dawg” mentality to the court, and it's infectious. She can score it from multiple spots on the floor. She's going to be a solid two way player who will be a problem to deal with down the road. Hard working kid who has a great work ethic.
