Knightdale Scrimmage: Wake Forest Cougars

Wake Forest has a talented team that is fun to watch. They play hard, defend with urgency, and do the little things on the court.    Jordyn Williams was one of the best offensive rebounders at the Knightdale scrimmage. She was everywhere on the floor. In the contest against Grace Christian, she grabbed three offensive rebounds - in three different possessions - during a 2-minute stretch. Williams changes the game because of her effort on the glass and her ability to finish quickly at the rim.       [player_tooltip player_id='617117' first='Chiquora' last='Miles'] is the real deal. She is smooth, and Miles finishes around the rim in a variety of ways. She is a lanky athlete who plays hard on offense and defense. She anticipates passing lanes well. She can drain the 3 and she is a skilled athlete with three range. Miles is a positive leader who is ready for an outstanding senior season with her teammates.       Hadley Chang is a bucket. She has a pretty left-handed jump shot with deep three-range. She can knock down multiple three-point field goals in transition or the half-court. She has a quick release and one expects the basketball to go in every time she shoots. When the defense takes Chang's outside shot away, she can attack the rim and score as well. She has a sweet floater that goes in with consistency.       Zaniya Bell is an aggressive guard who rebounds well. She is super-skilled and uses a variety of ways to create space for her to score. Bell is a left-handed guard who gets to the free-throw line frequently for her team. Bell has a great feel for the game and knows when to take over. Only a sophomore, Bell has a lot of great basketball ahead of her.       Nova Pate can shoot the basketball. She is a three-point shooter with range. She has a pretty outside shot and the ability to set her feet quickly. Pate is only a freshman and could contribute major minutes for Wake Forest this season if she continues to improve.       Karis Mayfield is a long player who defends with pride. She is a fantastic on-ball defender. She creates numerous turnovers each game and turns those steals into fast points for her Cougar squad. In the half court, Mayfield can score from three, the midrange, the foul line, or at the rim.       Morgan Glass is only a freshman. However, she is a competitor who makes positive things happen for her squad. She played great defense throughout the scrimmage and urgency when she was on the court. Glass is an ultra-quick player who uses her speed to force steals and get out in transition to score.
