Prep Girls Hoops was in attendance this past weekend at the Lady Red Raiders Thanksgiving Invitational at Greenville HS and Carolina HS. What did we see out of the 12 of 16 teams we were able to watch play? Read more right here on your source for basketball coverage all year long Prep Girls Hoops. SUBSCRIBE today and use the passcode "Swanny30" at checkout to save 30% off your first billing cycle. #RecruitThePalmettoState

Lady Indians Have Strong Duo:

The Gaffney HS Lady Indians eventually won the tourney this weekend in Greenville. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='567026' first='Shiriah' last='Harris'] and Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='637610' first='Tianah' last='Hopper'] look to be a solid 1-2 combination for the Lady Indians.

Harris rebounded everything in sight today around the cup. Shiriah plays the game with a HIGH MOTOR that never seems to turn off. She was able to finish with both hands around the bucket. She stayed active and aggressive on both ends of the court when it comes to collecting putbacks or rebounds. Shiriah dropped 25 points in the season opener.

Hopper is very skilled for her age. Tianah nicknamed "TT" is above average passer at times with her knack for seeing the floor. She was able to finish in transition on layups and some short jumpers in return. Tianah constantly made herself available around the ball at all times it seems. She likes to play inside-out on the floor. Hopper scored 17 points in an opening round win over Travelers Rest HS.

Sullivan Carries Lady Fury in Opener:

[player_tooltip player_id='903647' first='Zipora' last='Sullivan'] surely out the Fountain Inn HS Lady Fury on her back on opening night of the Lady Red Raiders Thanksgiving Invitational. The senior guard did a little bit of everything in a win over the host Greenville HS. Sullivan dropped 25 points in the opening round win. Zipora was able to finish at the rim when it came to using her mid-range jumper, dropping floaters in the lane or simply scoring at the bucket. She certainly was a 3-level scorer here today. When she showcased her perimeter jumper skills from downtown, they were successful.

Sullivan at times bullied defenders on the way to the bucket. She showcased a strong crossover move to get by defenders. Sullivan is an UNSIGNED SENIOR guard in the Upstate and a future Stock-Riser.

Lady Panthers Have Solid Group Back:

The Chapman HS Lady Panthers have a good nucleus of talent from a season ago. Can the Lady Panthers be in the mix in Class 3A in the Upstate? [player_tooltip player_id='249923' first='Krislyn' last='Wilder'] a Columbia College (SC) commit for basketball and softball looks to lead the way. Wilder a point guard was really able to set up her teammates all day long with her crisp passing skills. She really likes to use her arms to fight off defenders on her way to the bucket. Krislyn rarely leaves the floor for the Lady Panthers. Wilder enters her senior season with 1,129 career points.

[player_tooltip player_id='490794' first='Kara' last='Twitty'], [player_tooltip player_id='387011' first='Elliot' last='Miller'], [player_tooltip player_id='659988' first='Annastyn' last='Smith'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1068042' first='Kamryn' last='Thompkins'] all bring something to this roster for the Lady Panthers. Twitty a junior forward was active on the glass here today and playing around the bucket. Kara has good length to play active in the passing lanes and contribute putbacks on the glass.

Miller and Smith provide the Lady Panthers with good perimeter shooting threats from the floor. Smith was able to dial up from long distance on a few occasions here today.

Thompkins is just a sophomore center already with good size. Kamryn has good footwork and seems to be a good passer from the high post. She certainly has her best basketball in front of her down the road with the way she moves around the floor. At times today she floated on the perimeter. Kamryn really could be a force down low with some work with her back to the basket and her ability to power defenders down low. Kamryn is certainly a new name here for the database moving forward.

Lady Red Raiders Lack Size:

The Greenville HS Lady Red Raiders really lack true size in the paint. With the exception of 8th grader Laila Thomas this roster is not very big at all. [player_tooltip player_id='258130' first='Ava' last='Owens'] who recently visited UNC-Wilmington was playing in the post a lot here today out of necessity for team. Owens made the move over from Pickens HS late in the season last year. Ava plays relentless while on the floor with complete effort. She really does rebound the ball well from her position and for her size. She constantly makes herself available and generally scores her points around the bucket or in the paint area.

The Lady Red Raiders will have to rely on [player_tooltip player_id='567024' first='Miracle' last='Cheeks'] a freshman who transferred in from nearby Eastside HS this past summer. Miracle was saddled with foul trouble all day long and never really got into the groove.

Left-handed guard [player_tooltip player_id='1049250' first='Kailee' last='Williams'] can provide some scoring from downtown along with [player_tooltip player_id='1068049' first='Hailee' last='Wilson']. Williams and Wilson were able to connect on several three pointers here today. Williams and Wilson both bring good energy to the floor and confidence. Wilson really shows to have a quick shot release and shows to have no problems jumping on a deck for a loose ball.

Lady Lions Win Easy on Day 2:

Prep Girls Hoops was able to see the Daniel HS Lady Lions cruise in a consolation bracket game on Saturday morning vs Christ Church 60-36. The game was play at Carolina HS on the other side of the bracket. Daniel HS lost in the opening round to Dorman HS 60-53.

[player_tooltip player_id='753233' first='Lila' last='Mann'], [player_tooltip player_id='529246' first='Colleen' last='DiMaio'] and [player_tooltip player_id='672998' first='Shala' last='Williams'] led the way. Mann scored 15 points, DiMaio a UNSIGNED Senior finished 14 points while Williams added 12 points. This trio of ladies will look to lead the Lady Lions this season for Head Coach Cosander Griffin-Wilson.

DiMaio plays her best basketball around the paint area as a left-handed forward. Mann and Williams both just sophomores log a lot of minutes for the Lady Lions. Can the Lady Lions be in the mix in Class 3A in the Upstate this season?

Randon Thoughts:

[player_tooltip player_id='975639' first='Hailey' last='Burgess'] came out on fire for the Wren HS Hurricanes here today. Burgess just a freshman was able to drop some jumpers or score from the top of the key with 2-3 dribbles in her arsenal today. Hailey will surely be a scoring threat all season long for new Head Coach Samantha Camp at Wren HS.

[player_tooltip player_id='371550' first='Jadin' last='Dandy'] made a return to Travelers Rest HS basketball this season. Dandy who took last year off really excels on the softball diamond. Jadin told Prep Girls Hoops she is looking to concentrate more on basketball this coming season. Dandy plays the game hard at all times with a very aggressive mindset. She and the Lady Devildogs suffered a opening round loss. It was certainly nice to see Jadin back on the hardwood.
