Mercy High School is set to have a big season this Winter as they attempt to bring back most of their prospects from a year ago. One of the most productive being 5'9 SF/SG -[player_tooltip player_id='820517' first='Madisyn' last='Grzebielski']. Grzebielski moves around into the lane when need be but you can tell that she loves stretching the floor and knocking down shots from the outside. I mean, who doesn't and Grzebielski has the "greenest" light, so it tends to work out. In multiple contests last Winter she had over 10 three point attempts, sort of demonstrating the shots that she is willing to take. This Winter, the goal for this team will be to be a little more efficient on both ends of the ball. If they can consistently get more stops and be a little tighter in their offense, things will trend upward. As for Grzebielski individual, she will be looked up too by her teammates. She was a big part of their team last season and that will be the same this time around as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1055315' first='Ava' last='Fraass'] of Creek Valley is an undersized PF/Center, which means a few things. First off, it means she has heart. She competes on every possession, no matter the size situation and that shows both on film and in the box scores. Second, it means she has an aggressive demeanor. She is willing to mix it up with bigger opponents on the regular, all while being quick in her movements. Third, it means that she has a high motor to keep on going no matter what. All three of things scream a leader who is willing to put her body on the line for the good of her team and that is something everyone should respect from an outside perspective.

The Louisville Lions didn't end their 2023 - 2024 high school season the way they would have imagined but they showed some positives throughout the year, that will be used for their future success. Positives like CG/SF prospect - [player_tooltip player_id='988346' first='Lilly' last='Bax']. Bax ended the year leading her team in PPG and RPG, while attempting to do her best to help her team succeed. This season Bax is going to be called once again to lead this squad. Last time around, Bax wasn't necessarily thinking she was going to be the leader going into the year but it ended up like that. This time, she expects it so it'll be fun to see what she can put together with the confidence boost she will have from her teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='824274' first='Hadley' last='Wragge'] understands the game of basketball to a T, she makes great choices with the ball in her hands, and doesn't seem to feel pressure in any given moment out on the court. Three things that are going to help her create a fantastic Senior season with Pierce High School. Wragge can move around the outside, screen and roll to the bucket for a finish. She can hit an open cutter with a nice pace. She rebounds hard underneath the hoop out of her team's zone defense. All while being someone that doesn't try to do too much. Watching Pierce High School and they run some solid action out on the floor in their system. With how Wragge competes, she makes the most of the chances she gets and that's all you can ask for. Their coaches seem to set them up for success a majority of the time, now all it comes down to is execution. I expect Wragge to have another memorable season to finish things off. If she plays her carefree but intelligent game, she is going to see results sooner than later this season.

Knowing what your strengths are and having confidence in those strengths is a major key to success at the high school level on the Basketball court. Someone out of the 2027 Class in Nebraska, who did a great job of this as a Freshman last Winter was Forward, [player_tooltip player_id='1055317' first='Jakiah' last='McCoy'] of Cedar Bluffs High School. McCoy started off the season slow a year ago but she is looking to kick things off with a bang for her upcoming Sophomore campaign. With a lot of other prospects from this roster leaving due to graduation coming into the season, the leader role is going to fall onto two players moving forward and McCoy will be one of them. She is their Forward, who handles the physical play near the hoop. She consistently shows promise next to the painted area on both sides of the floor and that is an important factor to the success of her team this next few years.
