Kept it local and stopped over at North Forsyth this past Monday to look in on the Raider Classic, catching two good girls matchups there.

Sequoyah knocked down 13 three-balls and kept Walton from getting back in the game, prevailing 71-56. Later, watched the host Lady Raiders control the first half behind [player_tooltip player_id='302977' first='London' last='Weaver'], and had to leave before seeing what would later become a 48-35 NoFo win over Pope.

Some ladies who impressed:

[player_tooltip player_id='302977' first='London' last='Weaver'] | Forward | North Forsyth | 2025

Arguably the best girls player in the whole tournament, the lefty can be just dominant around the basket the way she finishes with such proficiency. We know she can shoot it as well, but it's the size and movement away from the ball that are special and make her a near impossible matchup problem at her size for just about any opponent. Headed for Chattanooga next fall where she should excel.

Emma Rose | Guard | North Forsyth | 2025

Spunky point guard who takes good care of the ball and keeps them sharp in their sets. Has a good stroke to keep defenses honest and plays really heady defense both with active hands and smart positioning.

Abbey Bensman | Guard | Pope | 2026

Pope graduated some key pieces and Bensman will be asked to do a lot. Has good size for the backcourt and can handle the rock, shows good vision and can knock them down from distance. Not afraid to get into the interior and use that good size to get the hoop and harms.

[player_tooltip player_id='450165' first='Graycen' last='Ehlen'] | Guard | Walton | 2025

Has such a smooth scoring game, it's fun to watch. Plays with a ton of poise and takes advantage in the mid-range using the bounce which I love. Headed to Miss. St for soccer but is a heck of a good basketball player as well.

Alice Zhang | Guard | Walton | 2025

Ehlen gets a lot of attention when the Raiders take the floor but Zhang looked confident and ready to knock down open looks when Sequoyah backed off. She's a weapon for them with good size for the 2, and works well in their system at both ends as she'll go in and rebound and plays sound defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='674574' first='Carly' last='Bass'] | Guard | Sequoyah | 2027

A top sophomore in the state, handles the point for the Lady Chiefs at near 6-foot, making her a physical mismatch for many other PG's. Adding to her inherently excellent vision as a distributor she can see over the defense and makes superb reads. A big-time knockdown threat from deep, she's looking quicker off the bounce than last season and has been really putting in the work with OTP and Jack Shaugnhessy.

[player_tooltip player_id='302976' first='Milanni' last='Abdus-Salaam'] | Forward | Sequoyah | 2025

An inside-out game that has to be respected from 20 feet all the way in to under the cup, as she will step and bury shots from the arc but has all the power to muscle her way to hoop and harms in close. She's a real key for SHS as Bass can control the temp away from the basket and the Lady Chiefs have bombers on the wing, but Abdus-Salaam being able to do both of those things really well and play stout post defense makes her a monster X factor in any deep runs they make.
