We are a week away from the larger classifications beginning to play in Louisiana. In our effort to continue with our preseason, All-state previews, we will look at our preseason 2A All-state team. 2A has grown into one of the bigger classification so there are girls aplenty to choose from. With that said, we narrowed it down to ten worthy members. I think these young ladies are some of the best in this class and can hold their own with other classifications as well.

1st Team

[player_tooltip player_id='489565' first='Stella' last='Allison'] (5'6" | 2026 | French Settlement)

[player_tooltip player_id='943308' first='Caroline' last='Bradley'] (6'5" | 2027 | Oak Grove)

Lila Lewis (5'3" | 2025 | East Beauregard)

Carley Meynard (5'9" | 2026 | Holy Savior Menard)

[player_tooltip player_id='489557' first='Kaliyah' last='Samuels'] (5'11" | 2026 | Lafayette Christian)

The Class 2A first team has players who are being highly sought after on the next level. [player_tooltip player_id='943308' first='Caroline' last='Bradley'] is the top player in her class for a good reason. She is highly skilled in the paint, is a rebounding machine, and can step out to hit jumpers. [player_tooltip player_id='489557' first='Kaliyah' last='Samuels'] is a three level scorer who can rebound and go. She can hurt teams from the perimeter or the post. Teams have to pick their poison when playing against [player_tooltip player_id='489565' first='Stella' last='Allison']. She can play either guard position and can shoot the lights out from three. Lila Lewis is a defensive terror for opposing teams. She deflects and steals passes better than a lot of guards and on offense she can spot up and knock down open jumpers consistently. Carley Meynard can get a double-double almost at will. She tracks shots well and scores using her smarts and size.

2nd Team

[player_tooltip player_id='485528' first='Sanaa' last='Bean'] (6'3" | 2025 | Isidore Newman)

Z'Riah Buggs (5'6" | 2025 | Homer)

[player_tooltip player_id='489585' first='Payton' last='Rowbatham'] (5'4" | 2026 | St. Thomas Aquinas)

Taelyn Taylor (5'5" | 2025 | Lafayette Christian)

[player_tooltip player_id='961143' first='Emani' last='Young'] (5'7" | 2025 | Oakdale)

Individuals on the second are very likely to have very good seasons as well. Taelyn Taylor will get an abundance of opportunities in fast-paced LCA offense to score. She plays great defense at the point as well. Z'Riah Buggs and her ability to get to the rim is unmatched. She is also very good from the mid-range as well. [player_tooltip player_id='489585' first='Payton' last='Rowbatham'] is very good at playing defense and turning turnovers into transition scores. She changes ends very quickly and knows how to finish. [player_tooltip player_id='961143' first='Emani' last='Young'] can defend, rebound, and score. She is a game changer when she is on the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='485528' first='Sanaa' last='Bean'] defends the paint at a high level and is very good at blocking shots. She is a deterrent to any player driving to the rim.

November 18th is when the Class 2A season begins. These players, and others, can be seen in various jamborees this week around the state.
