The 2027 class is rich in talent, especially in the 6A classification. There are a lot of sophomores ready to make an impact in 2024/25, but I wanted to focus on one conference in particular: the 6A West. Northwest Arkansas is well-known for producing great talent in all sports, especially girls basketball. This group of sophomores is evidence of that.

Springdale has several guards who can light it up at a moments notice, but [player_tooltip player_id='639177' first='Allie' last='Vaughn'] has a chance to make an immediate impact for the Lady Bulldogs.

Vaughn is primarily a playmaker, as she is great at setting up her teammates. Vaughn has excellent court vision, and she is very unselfish. Of course, she is not just a passer, as she can score the ball whenever she is called upon. Vaughn is automatic off the catch when shooting threes. She has a quick release and she knows how to get herself open when she moves without the ball. On the inside, Vaughn shows that size does not matter, and she can finish over taller defenders.

On defense, Vaughn is a pest. She has active hands and makes it her mission to create as many turnovers as she can. She deflects and steals almost every pass thrown her way. Once she comes away with the ball, she can dribble around defenders who decide to pick her up full-court. Her quickness allows her to become a lockdown perimeter defender.

On top of all of this, Vaughn is a great rebounder. Despite her 5'5" frame, she does all of the things guards need to do to get a rebound. A lot of guards are taught to not try to out-jump a taller player when going for a board, but instead, they should box them out. That may seem obvious, but some taller players do not try to do that, relying on their length to secure boards. Vaughn has shown that she can take taller players out of the equation with her boxing out ability, even causing some of her opponents to commit over-the-back fouls on her.

[player_tooltip player_id='639177' first='Allie' last='Vaughn'] hustles extremely hard and she can do whatever it takes to win. Vaughn's role on this team remains to be seen, as Springdale does not tip off until November 14th when they face Harrison High School in a benefit game. Regardless, Vaughn deserves time on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='593261' first='Syniah' last='Coachman'] has legitimate Division I talent! She is also not at Springdale High School, she is at neighboring Fayetteville High School.

Coachman is a slasher at heart, but she can do so much on the offensive side of the ball for her team. Getting to the rim is not a difficult task for Coachman, as she uses her explosive first step and long stride to get into a great position to finish inside. She also finishes well through contact, has a mean jab step, and draws fouls at an elite rate.

From the outside, Coachman has shown scouts that she can knock down the three as well as the turn-around jumper. She has a quick release and her length allows her to easily shoot over the defense. On defense, she also makes an impact, as she can steal the ball and block some shots, often sparking the fastbreak.

[player_tooltip player_id='593261' first='Syniah' last='Coachman'] has received offers from Arkansas, Alabama, Hawaii, and Wichita State, but I know she is far from finished. Coachman is one of the best players in all of Northwest Arkansas, and it will be a treat to watch her dominate this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='953349' first='Aliyah' last='Miller'] is a spot-up shooter who makes all the right plays for her team. Miller is set to have an immediate impact this season for Bentonville, and she could even push for a spot on the all-conference team.

Miller has a fantastic 3-point shot, and she lights the opposing team up so quickly. Her form is quick, she has solid shot elevation, and she hardly misses off the catch. Miller can also move without the basketball, cutting inside and becoming an easy target for her teammates to hit.

When I mentioned how Miller makes the right plays, I meant that as she knows just when to swing the ball. Most sophomores do not understand passing up a good shot for a better shot, but Miller does. Multiple times this summer while playing with her AAU squad, she would immediately swing the ball to an open teammate, usually ending in an assist.

On offense, Suarez can use her height and athleticism to position herself well inside, allowing her to score at will in the paint. She can also stretch her game out to the perimeter, as she can hit catch-and-shoot threes with a high-arching shot.

To cap off this article, it is only fitting to mention the best sister duo in the 6A classification: Makenlie and [player_tooltip player_id='1090312' first='Madisen' last='Campbell'] of Springdale Har-Ber High School. Both players are on D1 radars, and they are looking to have huge sophomore seasons.

Starting with [player_tooltip player_id='1090299' first='Makenlie' last='Campbell'], she arguably had the best freshman year between her and her sister. She was all-conference and all-state, 6A West Newcomer of the Year, and averaged 14.2 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals per game. All of this as just a freshman in the toughest classification in the state!

Campbell is a great inside-outside scorer who is so hard to stop. She drives hard to the basket and finishes through contact. Often, she is the one initiating the contact, but manipulating the defense into getting to the free throw line. She can also step back, pull up, and spot up from mid-range and from three. Campbell is great off the dribble and can create her own offense, but she is unselfish and dishes to her open teammates.

Campbell is not a favorable matchup when she is playing defense. She is aggressive and displays her length when defending on the perimeter. She shuts down ball-handlers, and she steals passes, looking like a wide receiver when she skies to take away the pass.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090299' first='Makenlie' last='Campbell'] already has an offer from Wichita State, but if her sophomore season is anything like her freshman year, then her inbox will be full of college emails.

Campbell hustles hard on both ends of the floor, and it pays off on the box score. On offense, Campbell moves well without the basketball, cutting to the basket and finding numerous open looks at the rim. She is also a solid 3-point shooter. Once Campbell spots up, she is deadly shooting off the catch. If she is not the one shooting the ball, then Campbell is crashing the glass and getting extra chances on offense.
