About Syniah
Expert Analysis
Sam Duren | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
The top Arkansas prospect closed out the weekend strong with an impressive scoring display in a close win. Scored 19 points, and was a monster in the mid-range. Hit a few threes as well. Including one where she got off the ball, set a screen and popped. Always impressive to see lead guards be comfortable and savvy off the ball. Outstanding athlete, with a plus wingspan, who simply knows how to produce.

made plays all night long, which is what we have all come to expect from the #1 player in the 2027 class and one of the best guards in the nation.
Coachman finished with 14 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, 5 steals, and 1 block. Stuffing the stat sheet is all too common, and her ability to outrebound bigs and to facilitate is phenomenal. Scoring-wise, Coachman was attacking the basket and operating well on the perimeter, hitting 2 triples.
The 6 stocks is notable, as every defensive haymaker NLR would throw her way, she would throw it right back. Sure, NLR held them to 40 points, but they weren’t that much better at 46 points, and Coachman was going to make sure that was a hard-earned 46.

proved that she could play hard and battle through adversity. She also showed that if her team needed a stop defensively, she would come through for them.

is one of the state’s best guards, and her offer sheet will prove that, with Baylor being her most recent offer.
Coachman is a phenomenal scorer who can torch defenses from beyond the arc and from the interior. Her length as a point guard helps Har-Ber’s offense and defense by allowing her to score over any defender and to defend any opposing guard.
Her playmaking abilities have improved throughout the year, and she can easily be a pass-first player, depending on the circumstances of the contest. Of course, she leads her team in scoring, and it all comes together for her down the stretch of a game, as she consistently propels her team to victory.

is having a very good summer so far. Her offer sheet was already impressive, but over the last couple of months, she has put herself in the conversation as one of the best guards in the United States, and colleges are taking notice.
West Virginia just offered Coachman back on the 2nd. She had picked up offers from Mississippi State, SMU, Arkansas, Wichita State, Hawaii, Ole Miss, Alabama, Houston, and Michigan State as well. Coachman is already ranked #51 in the ESPN Women’s Hoop 2027 ranking.
Coachman is a unicorn for a point guard. She is hard to stop with her 5’10” frame, especially when she attacks the basket. She can finish up and over the defense with ease, and she can hit jumpers with a hand in her face. She can also make plays for others, always making sure her teammates are involved in the game plan.

is a solid defender, earning a 6A all-defense selection in addition to her all-conference and all-state selections. She is the whole package, and the Lady Bulldogs are glad she is on their team. Keep an eye on Coachman, as I am sure she will continue to pick up more offers shortly.

has been extremely serviceable, making shots whenever her team needs them.
Coachman, Brown, and Caudle have been a tough trio to stop in the tournament, and this sophomore has been automatic in the second half of playoff games. In Fayetteville’s semi-final win over North Little Rock, Coachman scored 14 points, with 11 coming in the second half.
Coachman has a deep offensive bag, as she can get to any spot on the floor and knock down a jumper. She can also slice past the defense and get to the paint. In these tournament games, she has been sent to the free throw line a number of times, and she has connected on those free shots.

! Outside of her performances for the Lady Bulldogs so far, Coachman’s ranking mostly has to do with her accomplishments from her time during the AAU season. With the MO Phenom, Coachman was able to pick up multiple major Division I offers, including hometown University of Arkansas, Hawaii, Wichita State, and Alabama.
Coachman has been able to play right away and contribute on both sides of the floor. She is a long guard who uses her lengthy stride to stretch her way to the rim. She finishes well in the paint, but her best offensive attribute is her outside shooting.
Coachman is a lethal 3-point shooter off the catch, and with her 5’10” frame and long arms, her shot is very difficult to contest. She can also shoot off the bounce, or use that dribble to maneuver around traffic, able to get to any spot she wants. Of course, to warrant the #1 spot in your class, you need to be able to contribute in other ways besides the offensive end.
Coachman uses her length to her advantage on defense, usually guarding some of opposition’s best offensive players. In a November contest against Greenwood High School, Coachman went on a defensive frenzy, recording 4 steals, 2 blocks, and 8 rebounds. She is aggressive on this end, making sure the opposition has to work for it if they even want to get a shot off. Coachman uses her elite athleticism well on this end, blocking shots like a center and getting a rise out of the crowd in the process.

is an elite player in the class of 2027, and she has yet to scratch the surface of her basketball potential. This is a player we will be hearing about for a long time and she is deserving of the #1 spot. However, there are plenty of other players who are also deserving, and there might be some fluctuation around the top positions in the future.

Coachman is one the most talented players in her class and watching her clips were really impressive. She runs the floor with grace for a chase down block like Lebron. Coachman has poise and great reaction timing for such a young player. She has next level skills that attracts colleges from Hawaii, Wichita State, Alabama, and a list of others. Playing for Fayetteville as a freshman, the 5’11 forward/guard had a game high of 22pts. Coachman’s sophomore season will be the time for her showcase her talent as a top prospect in Arkansas basketball. She’s complete as a guard and works like there’s room to grow. Showing no satisfaction for where she is in her career is a hunger that will not go unnoticed. She can shoot, create off the dribble, and play great defense. What is impressive is that you can see #23 displaying things she works on and constantly adding to her game. An incredible talent to look forward to seeing more of.

has legitimate Division I talent! She is also not at Springdale High School, she is at neighboring Fayetteville High School.
Coachman is a slasher at heart, but she can do so much on the offensive side of the ball for her team. Getting to the rim is not a difficult task for Coachman, as she uses her explosive first step and long stride to get into a great position to finish inside. She also finishes well through contact, has a mean jab step, and draws fouls at an elite rate.
From the outside, Coachman has shown scouts that she can knock down the three as well as the turn-around jumper. She has a quick release and her length allows her to easily shoot over the defense. On defense, she also makes an impact, as she can steal the ball and block some shots, often sparking the fastbreak.

has received offers from Arkansas, Alabama, Hawaii, and Wichita State, but I know she is far from finished. Coachman is one of the best players in all of Northwest Arkansas, and it will be a treat to watch her dominate this season.
