[player_tooltip player_id='1091162' first='Makenzie' last='Todd'] and Gering High School will challenge Chardon in an early season exhibition on Saturday and I'm excited to see how everyone looks. Todd is a 5'10 PG/SG, that is committed to North Platte CC to continue on her basketball journey following this winter so I'm excited to see what she can string together. From the outside look of it, Todd is a mismatch with her mixture of size, skill, and coordination. She does a lot of things on the floor that seem effortless and that happens because of her work in the off-seasons. Todd has also been a multiple sport athlete all of her high school career so when you add those things to the mix, you start to see the promise and begin to wonder how far she could really take things. I'm excited to see how she does this weekend to start her final go-around on the high school floor.

I don't think that [player_tooltip player_id='766582' first='Tacey' last='From'] will be her Bridgeport team's leader in specific categories this Winter but I do think that she will be a big factor in her team's overall success from the guard position. To have a chance to win State, you need a complete roster in most situations and From is going to be someone that is looked upon in some important moments as contests drag on over the next six months. If she plays to her strengths, limits turnovers like I know she can, and she plays efficient ball, she is going to love how her Senior season concludes. This weekend she should play a lot in their big game against Scottsbluff and I'm excited to see how she handles those moments.

We recently started talking about [player_tooltip player_id='964973' first='Ava' last='Reed'] this past off-season because of her superior ability on the floor. Reed has that mixture of height, skill, athletic ability, smarts, and a high motor that every coach loves to work with. No matter what level. This is a prospect with a picture perfect shooting stroke, a crafty play style, and a ton of future potential. I'm not sure where Reed will end up but I know she has had some D1 and D2 interest in the past and that checks out. She is definitely that level of player, now it's just figuring out where she wants to take things from this point. As for this weekend, I'm sure Reed will be ready to ride against a close rival in Bridgeport.

You already know what you are getting when [player_tooltip player_id='276516' first='Molly' last='Ladwig'] laces up her kicks and takes the hardwood. You get a walking bucket, that understands what it means to be a competitor and winner. I expect nothing less out of Ladwig and company this weekend. As well as moving into the future at Buffalo, when she does finally get there. Skutt has a tough exhibition against Millard North on Saturday and I'm sure the stars of both programs will come out to shine. This is two groups that have some hoopers so if we are lucky, we are going to be in for a show before you know it.

This is a very important season in my opinion for [player_tooltip player_id='865481' first='Gigi' last='Owens'] and her Lincoln High - High School squad. Owens has a ton of upside and future potential but this has to be the season that's on full display. I'm hoping that Owens gets a ton of time in this exhibition and ultimately, throughout their season. Her mixture of length at 6'0, her aggressive edge, and her willingness to mix it up with anyone across from her makes it tough to keep her in check when she has confidence. I really hope I see that this weekend and throughout the rest of the Winter.
