Happy holidays to those who celebrate and hopefully the time spent with loved ones was filled with pleasure. It's an ideal time to discuss the recently dropped '26 rankings, more specifically focusing on the shooting guards of the class at the moment. The shooting guard position is a talented bunch and its critically important to highlight the ones at the top of the group. There're 190 girls recognized collectively; below are just 5 from a position in this latest update.

Sammie's level of talent combined with her productivity are what make her the #1 ranked shooting guard in the class. She's a regular 20+ ppg scorer that plays alongside another star talent at Londonderry as well as other gifted players in AAU with the MCW Starz. Just this high school season Sullivan has already had a couple breakout games and has made a case for being one of the best in the entire state, regardless of class. She's trustworthy in games, no matter the situation, as well as being the sensible solution to many problems found games. Sullivan's skillset makes her a staple. Sammie's powerful and potent playstyle have put her on the watchlists of a good deal of schools. So far, she has offers from institutions like Providence, UNH, Byrant, Stonehill and Northeastern.

Lauren Fitgerald (2026) | 6'0 SG | Bishop Feehan

Lauren plays on a stacked Tabor team that has a plethora of talented wings. She certainly brings an unreplaceable spark for the Gators. Even though Fitzgerald isn't logging as many minutes as some of the higher usage players, she's still one of the best floor spacers in the class. The physical tools she brings plus her shooting skills allows her to be such a highly ranked prospect. Fitzgerald has showed to have tons of potential and upside on the wing. She can also fill different roles at other positions. Throughout AAU she's had many commanding games as well as showing dazzling flashes at Tabor in her career. Fitzgerald attacks closeouts with athletic resilient finishes and knocks down steady jumpers without second thought. She is quite the factor on the floor. Lauren is the #2 ranked shooting guard in the class.

A very fluid shooter that can mix things up a bit with strong takes at the rim and also incredibly solid at the free-throw line. Hannon possesses 3-level scoring capabilities that can stagger opponents at any moment. Breena is a constant threat to the opposition. She has a great feel for the game that's the foundation to her skillset. On top of that, Hannon has excellent footwork, physicality and is an underrated passer. Breena can also play the post a bit too when the time calls for it. She seems to elevate her level of play when matched up against the premier players in the region. Hannon is the #3 ranked shooting guard.

Emma is a tremendously polished multifaceted player that's highly effective and makes winning plays happen. She's beneficial in the offense due to her versatility that starts with her proficient shooting. Smith offers functionality at different positions, but remains a reliable perimeter option that can space the floor. She's a player that teams attempt to put shackles on, but her offensive capacity is too deft for many. Last year she put on a show in the playoffs, having some show-out performances, including a 25+ point game in the semifinals. Smith is the #28 player in the class and the #4 ranked shooting guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='481343' first='Alexandra' last='Danis'] (2026) | 5'9 SG | Newton North

Danis averaged 12 ppg, 2.6 apg, 4.5 rpg and 2 steals on the season last year, as well as being named a Bay State League All Star. What an interesting prospect Allie is with lustrous eye-popping moves combined with smooth deceptive movements that round out a spiritous talent. Allie's ability to command an offense can be dazzling to watch. The ballhandling can be sensational at times, but never redundant. Allie finds different ways to attack and makes on the spot adjustments based off whatever the defender is allowing. Her refined skillset is clearly a product of hard work. It's the small intricate things in her game that standout. Her pace of play, plus her timing is decisive and can throw some good defenders off. It doesn't take many looks to see why Allie is top 5 player at the position. Danis is ranked the #33 player overall in the class.
