A big week in New England hoops, including a blockbuster event over the weekend. The Girls Hoops Series Winter Classic was a hub for advanced hoops. The insights provided were applicable to girls mentioned below. Theres also been some other displays who've started the season off on a high note too. Impressive exhibits never get old and these distinctive showings are a great sign to a pronounced season. Below are 5 players who had notable performances in the last week.

Use code MBG30 for 30% off your first purchase of any subscription.

Eva Wilkerson (2025) | 5'4 PG | Sacred Heart Greenwich

Eva had a well-balanced game that concluded with her scoring 17 pts, 7 rebs and 5 stl on efficient shooting splits. The game ended up resulting in a blowout by the end where Sacred Heart found themselves the victor over Millbrook 70-30. Wilkerson got off to a quick start by finding holes in the defense. She operated at a high-level with the ball in her hands and she was also able to move the ball around the floor to get the offense moving. Eva had no problem crashing the glass either. her aggressive mindset as a guard allows her to get physical in the paint and come up with the unpredictable rebounds. Wilkerson's play was a solid highlight from yesterday.

[player_tooltip player_id='970534' first='Lily' last='Davis'] (2028) | 5'6 PG | Tabor

Lily was absolutely phenomenal in this weekend's event that just so happened to be held on her homecourt. She used that lightning quick speed to blaze up the floor and her playmaking skills were on full display too. The #2 player in the recently updated rankings proved why she's next up in the region. Davis had a striking game that overwhelmed the defense, which just opened up things for her other talented teammates. Not only was Lily able to penetrate the lane at will, but she remained at a pace that was above most of the competition all weekend. Davis is the real deal.

[player_tooltip player_id='968012' first='Maeve' last='Early'] (2027) | 5'10 Wing | Marianapolis

The past few months have been exceptional in Early's development. The momentum from the offseason has culminated into a polished looking player that impacts the game on different levels. In her game vs Hoosac, she scored 23 pts, 6 reb, 6 stl, 3 ast and 1 block. She was everywhere on the floor; Maeve will do whatever it takes to give her team a better shot at winning. Her versatility provides teammates with a solid option they can rely on. Early's ability to create angles should be noted and they're a prized component of her game. She's assertive, yet patient with the ball, a combination that can be lethal at times. Defensively, her activeness was well noted. Many times, Early was interrupting the passing lanes and coming up with deflections at the right time. She was able to find success digging deep with her persistence. The stock seems to be continuously rising.

[player_tooltip player_id='1103774' first='Angel' last='Efaso'] (2027) | Forward | Austin Prep

Angel was a beacon of radiant light for Austin Prep's ravaging blowout win over Portsmouth Abbey 63-37. Angel plays alongside EPSN Top 100 ranked player, [player_tooltip player_id='998269' first='Fope' last='Ayo'], so she's able to consistently get quality looks around the basket. Efaso's ability to finish around the rim showed to be quite effective in this game. She sported a soft touch and knew what angles to use on the backboard. Her activity from the short corners overwhelms the backline of the defense. When her teammates found open holes, she made sure to make herself a big target. Angel's defense was topnotch too. While playing alongside one of the premier defensive anchors in the region., she makes out to be a productive underlining x-factor. Her length and agility allow her to roam around the paint. She can even hang with some of the dribble penetrators. Efaso was a great secondary deterrence at the forward position. Angel finished the game with 27 pts and 11 rebounds.

Corey Sims (2030} | CG | Brimmer & May

Corey was one of the youngest shining stars to have showcased her talent in the Girls Hoop Series Winter Classic. Piloting an extremely young Brimmer team, Sims had a game over the weekend where she led her squad with 20 points. Throughout the game, Corey made it her point to maintain a paint presence. She was consistently getting in the lane, as well as drawing contact from the help defenders. Sims showed she's a talent to know in New England; there aren't too many 7th graders that could hold their own vs. college prospects.
