West Potomac has a very solid roster, and a lot of it flows through [player_tooltip player_id='755782' first='Olivia' last='Jones']. West Potomac had a 2-0 week, beating a fantastic Langley team and cruising by James Madison. Olivia had 15 in a close win over Langley, then had another solid performance against Madison. Olivia has a great handle and is a fantastic driver. She defends well and is great in transition with her finishing ability. Olivia moves well without the ball and is the motor for a great West Potomac squad.

My first introduction to [player_tooltip player_id='1003768' first='Alice' last='Allen'] was this summer and she left a big impression on me, and a lot of the other people watching. She had a fantastic performance for Langley in a loss to West Potomac. Alice had 27 points, and even though they lost, Langley has to be excited for what this freshman will bring moving forward to what is a very good Langley squad. Alice is a tenacious defender and plays the game harder than anyone on the court. She shoots the ball well, and even if she's not scoring, she makes her mark on the game.

Centreville lost a decent amount of production from last year, but they return one of the best players in NOVA in [player_tooltip player_id='239387' first='Kennedy' last='Parrott']. Kennedy was district player of the year last season, but in the first week of the year, she looked even better. Kennedy's mid-range and ability to get to the rim was big in Centreville's 2-0 week. Kennedy had 23 in a blowout win over Yorktown, then had another solid performance in a win over Gainesville. Kennedy showed why she is going D1, and Centreville looked like the elite team people expected them to be preseason.

I mentioned that Centreville lost production from last year, and I was wondering heading into this year who would step up behind [player_tooltip player_id='239387' first='Kennedy' last='Parrott']. [player_tooltip player_id='433880' first='Malia' last='Siriwardene'] is one of the talented players that will step up in role this year, and she looked terrific against Gainesville. Malia knocked down jump shots, and she showed off her athleticism on the glass. Malia passes well and plays hard. I love Malia's feel for the game, and moving forward, she is a player to watch in the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='579893' first='Peyton' last='White'] is a player who has improved extensively throughout her high school career, and so far, I've loved what I've seen her from this year. Peyton was fantastic defensively against Centreville, and she took a lot of the challenge in guarding Kennedy Parrot. Peyton was a force on defense in Gainesville's win over Colgan. Peyton's becoming a go-to scorer while also being one of the most elite defenders in the area. There will not be many bigs better than Peyton this year in NOVA, and this early portion of the season has proved that.

Chantilly played 3 games in 3 days, and they comfortably won all 3 of them. Chantilly is poised to be one of the best teams in NOVA, and they have three fantastic players. [player_tooltip player_id='857043' first='Emerson' last='Mustard'] is one of them, and she had a consistent week. She had 15+ in all three games and was big on both ends for Chantilly. Emerson does a great job as a driver, and she is a hard-nosed player on both ends.
