The 2024-25 season for girls' high school basketball has gotten off to a hot start. That said, some teams have yet to play their first game. For others, they have played as many as two or three games thus far.

Here is the Player of the Week and other Standout Players from from around the State. With opening day (Nov. 23) falling on a Saturday, the week of Nov. 24-30 will serve as week-1.

Player of the Week

[player_tooltip player_id='458555' first='Bhret' last='Clay'] | Hobbs | 2025

Clay, a two-way play-maker, helped the Eagles win back-to-back games. Hobbs defeated Mayfield, 48-24 on Nov. 26 then defeated Lubbock-Cooper, 54-43 on Nov. 30.

The 5'9" shooting-guard averaged a commanding 16.5 points during Hobbs' two-game winning streak but was overall impactful on both ends of the floor. Clay makes the game easier for her teammates due to her versatility and all-around game. The senior makes a valiant effort to rebound, while also creating steals and deflections. Additionally Clay has a knack for getting to the foul-line. When the Eagles are need of a bucket or when the momentum appears to start swaying, Clay seems to always draw a foul and settle the team.

Hobbs is currently 2-1 on the year thus far. As for Clay, she gotten off to a great start from an individual standpoint. To start the 2024-25 season, Clay has reached double-figures in all three games. Moreover, the Air Force commit has scored 15 or more points in each outing.

Notable Standout Players from around the State

[player_tooltip player_id='648191' first='Jordyn' last='Dyer'] | La Cueva | 2026

It was an impressive season-opener for Dyer as she logged a Double-Double for the Bears. The junior shooting-guard's versatility was on full display, particularly off the bounce. Dyer finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists, shooting 42 percent from the field in a 60-53 win over AHS.

[player_tooltip player_id='391124' first='Jorianne' last='Mirabal'] | Magdalena | 2025

Mirabal logged team-highs with 17 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The senior guard gave the Tigers trouble all game long, helping Magdalena get the 25-point victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='828812' first='Jema' last='Ganadonegro'] | Magdalena | 2026

Like Mirabal, Ganadonegro had a solid game all-around for the Magdalena. The junior put up 16 points, 4 assists and a team-high 5 steals. Ganadonegro's activity defensively really stood out.

[player_tooltip player_id='901174' first='Semaria' last='Brown'] | Bernalillo | 2027

Brown posted 16 points and 17 rebounds, registering a monster Double-Double for the Spartans. The dominate outing lifted the Spartans to a 50-46 win against Manzano. The sophomore center went 6/15 from the field and grabbed 8 offensive-rebounds!

[player_tooltip player_id='828817' first='Elia' last='Cleveland'] | Magdalena | 2026

The junior sharpshooter once again did a great job spacing the floor for the Steers. Cleveland went a perfect 3/3 from behind the arc in a 67-42 win @ Hot Springs. Cleveland's final stat-line was 16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='828814' first='Paz' last='Romero'] | La Cueva | 2026

Romero tallied13 points and 3 assists at home versus the Bulldogs. Additionally Romero connected on three-point shots on three separate occasions. Her biggest shot of the night came at the 4:41 mark in the fourth quarter. A catch and shoot trey from the top of the key that extended the Bears lead to four points (52-48).

[player_tooltip player_id='391323' first='Mila' last='Espinoza'] | Volcano Vista | 2025

Espinoza had a stellar home-opener finishing with a game-high 20 points which included six made three-pointers. The senior guard has always been a viable threat from distance. But if Espinoza continues to shoot the ball at this clip in 2024-25, it is going to be a fantastic year for her.

[player_tooltip player_id='642725' first='Tessa' last='Jaramillo'] | Los Lunas | 2025

Jaramillo posted an efficient 13 points and 3 steals in a 48-33 win @ Las Cruces. The combo-guard shot 50 percent from the field, going 5/10 overall to kick off her senior campaign. Jaramillo was deadly on the catch, hitting treys in rhythm when in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='391121' first='Monique' last='Sena'] | West Mesa | 2025

Despite losing 67-42 vs Rio Rancho, Sena still put up 28 points and 6 steals for the Mustangs. Sena was relentless attacking the basket and getting opposing defenders to commit fouls. The senior went a staggering 17/20 from the charity stripe in the season-opener.

[player_tooltip player_id='458558' first='Jessica' last='Roberts'] | Organ Mountain | 2025

Roberts, a savvy lefty shooting-guard, put up a team-high 23 points and 8 rebounds in a 62-41 loss vs Pebble Hills. The senior was the only Knight player to reach double-figures in the season-opener. At 5'6", Roberts relies on her footwork and ability to score at various spots in the half-court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1218211' first='Amanda' last='De La Rosa'] | Clovis | 2025

De La Rosa is a multilevel scorer who is deceptive with her pace. The senior finished with a game-high 19 points, which includes 4/9 three-pointers made and 5/5 free-throws. De La Rosa also had 8 rebounds and 2 steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='839427' first='Gianna' last='Cordova'] | Clovis | 2027

Cordova displayed a solid handle and the ability to score at all three-levels. The sophomore totaled 18 points going 3/4 from distance and 5/6 from the foul-line. Cordova hit a massive game-tying three-pointer with 28.0 seconds left in regulation.

[player_tooltip player_id='1221601' first='Savannah' last='Saavedra'] | Valencia | 2026

Saavedra posted a team-high 17 points for Valencia in a 62-58 overtime loss. However, Saavedra shot lights out from deep. The junior was extremely confident and torched the opposition in catch and shoot situations

*Statistics via MaxPreps*

Coupon Code

Enter code at checkout and receive $10 off your registration!

Code: MartinezPGH2024
