<p>The 2024-25 season for girls' high school basketball has gotten off to a hot start. That said, some teams have yet to play their first game. For others, they have played as many as two or three games thus far. </p>

<p>Here is the Player of the Week and other Standout Players from from around the State. With opening day (Nov. 23) falling on a Saturday, the week of Nov. 24-30 will serve as week-1. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='458555' first='Bhret' last='Clay'] | Hobbs | 2025</p>

<p>Clay, a two-way play-maker, helped the Eagles win back-to-back games. Hobbs defeated Mayfield, 48-24 on Nov. 26 then defeated Lubbock-Cooper, 54-43 on Nov. 30.</p>

<p>The 5'9" shooting-guard averaged a commanding 16.5 points during Hobbs' two-game winning streak but was overall impactful on both ends of the floor. Clay makes the game easier for her teammates due to her versatility and all-around game. The senior makes a valiant effort to rebound, while also creating steals and deflections. Additionally Clay has a knack for getting to the foul-line. When the Eagles are need of a bucket or when the momentum appears to start swaying, Clay seems to always draw a foul and settle the team.</p>

<p>Hobbs is currently 2-1 on the year thus far. As for Clay, she gotten off to a great start from an individual standpoint. To start the 2024-25 season, Clay has reached double-figures in all three games. Moreover, the Air Force commit has scored 15 or more points in each outing.</p>

<p>It was an impressive season-opener for Dyer as she logged a Double-Double for the Bears. The junior shooting-guard's versatility was on full display, particularly off the bounce. Dyer finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists, shooting 42 percent from the field in a 60-53 win over AHS.</p>

<p>Mirabal logged team-highs with 17 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The senior guard gave the Tigers trouble all game long, helping Magdalena get the 25-point victory.</p>

<p>Like Mirabal, Ganadonegro had a solid game all-around for the Magdalena. The junior put up 16 points, 4 assists and a team-high 5 steals. Ganadonegro's activity defensively really stood out. </p>

<p>Brown posted 16 points and 17 rebounds, registering a monster Double-Double for the Spartans. The dominate outing lifted the Spartans to a 50-46 win against Manzano. The sophomore center went 6/15 from the field and grabbed 8 offensive-rebounds!</p>

<p>The junior sharpshooter once again did a great job spacing the floor for the Steers. Cleveland went a perfect 3/3 from behind the arc in a 67-42 win @ Hot Springs. Cleveland's final stat-line was 16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.</p>

<p>Romero tallied13 points and 3 assists at home versus the Bulldogs. Additionally Romero connected on three-point shots on three separate occasions. Her biggest shot of the night came at the 4:41 mark in the fourth quarter. A catch and shoot trey from the top of the key that extended the Bears lead to four points (52-48).</p>

<p>Espinoza had a stellar home-opener finishing with a game-high 20 points which included six made three-pointers. The senior guard has always been a viable threat from distance. But if Espinoza continues to shoot the ball at this clip in 2024-25, it is going to be a fantastic year for her. </p>

<p>Jaramillo posted an efficient 13 points and 3 steals in a 48-33 win @ Las Cruces. The combo-guard shot 50 percent from the field, going 5/10 overall to kick off her senior campaign. Jaramillo was deadly on the catch, hitting treys in rhythm when in transition. </p>

<p>Despite losing 67-42 vs Rio Rancho, Sena still put up 28 points and 6 steals for the Mustangs. Sena was relentless attacking the basket and getting opposing defenders to commit fouls. The senior went a staggering 17/20 from the charity stripe in the season-opener.</p>

<p>Roberts, a savvy lefty shooting-guard, put up a team-high 23 points and 8 rebounds in a 62-41 loss vs Pebble Hills. The senior was the only Knight player to reach double-figures in the season-opener. At 5'6", Roberts relies on her footwork and ability to score at various spots in the half-court.</p>

<p>De La Rosa is a multilevel scorer who is deceptive with her pace. The senior finished with a game-high 19 points, which includes 4/9 three-pointers made and 5/5 free-throws. De La Rosa also had 8 rebounds and 2 steals. </p>

<p>Cordova displayed a solid handle and the ability to score at all three-levels. The sophomore totaled 18 points going 3/4 from distance and 5/6 from the foul-line. Cordova hit a massive game-tying three-pointer with 28.0 seconds left in regulation.</p>

<p>Saavedra posted a team-high 17 points for Valencia in a 62-58 overtime loss. However, Saavedra shot lights out from deep. The junior was extremely confident and torched the opposition in catch and shoot situations</p>
