The Wildcats' answer to their ball-handling questions last night was sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1049239' first='Noelle' last='Rauwolf']. The 5'6 Wildcat pushed the ball up the floor off inbounds passes to nullify the full-court press that the opposing had on the Wildcats all night, and Rauwolf routinely turned that pressure into shots at the rim. The sophomore led the game in scoring last night due to her finishing at the rim and ability to knock down free throws all night. Rauwolf may not be a box-office name statewide, but she'll keep winning Verona games.

I learned about Elliot shortly after her performance, which led to Kohler's upset win over Sheboygan Lutheran. I saw Elliot on the road against Sheboygan Christian, and even though she found herself in foul trouble in the first half, you couldn't deny the impact she had on the game when she was on the floor. How she moved the ball, finished at the rim, crashed the boards, and generated turnovers led to the Blue Bombers running away early. Once she returned to the floor in the 2nd half, Kohler ran away. Kohler won that game by 40, and I wouldn't be surprised if Elliot had a +50 that night.

Of all the 2028s in this state I've seen, Awe is among the most intriguing. She's probably the furthest away from the finished product of them all but does things few others can. She's one of the best weakside defenders in Central Wisconsin and around the state. Her six-block performance in her debut against Eau Claire Memorial will stick with me forever because she controlled the area around the basket as a defender, even when she was probably a bit nervous.

Athleticism and energy will get you on the floor in a hurry. The way Kling flies around the floor stood out quickly. The Old Abe immediately put herself on my radar. The offensive side of the floor could use some work so she's more consistent, but the outline is there. She's quick enough to beat her defender off the dribble, and the shot looks good from top to bottom. I'm a massive fan of her game. Kling has the ceiling of being a scholarship-level kid.
