This year's rendition, once again hosted by A1 Hoops Report, would see J.L. Mann serve as the host site. Last year's utilized the courts at J.L. Mann as well as another 5A school in Mauldin. The bulk of the field, as expected, hailed from the Upstate.

If one had a chance to watch 4A Seneca's matchup late that afternoon with 5A Greenville, onlookers were in for a treat courtesy of the Bobcats' standout freshman. Hall's 26 points lifted Seneca to victory over the Red Raiders. Not to mention the final score was 53-43 – meaning Hall needed every single one of those 26. What really wowed the crowd at J.L. Mann was the six 3-pointers she drained. In addition to her 3-point accuracy, Hall managed to attack the basket and had her chances at the free throw line. She also knew when to attempt to score and when to dish the rock to a teammate. She also competes in track and cross country. Oh, did we mention she is a freshman?

If it is a Greer contest, one can count on the 4A Yellow Jackets' resident star guard to put up big numbers. She did so again in Greer's victory over 2A Fairfield Central. She had 19 points as the Yellow Jackets dispatched the Griffins by a score of 52-43 to advance to Monday's Gold Bracket championship game against another 4A combatant in Southside. Moody not only has superb ball handling skills, but fuses those together with speed and quickness which makes her a particularly tough out for a defender. Moody also plays strong lockdown defense and will draw contact to get to the free throw line. Two words. Unsigned. Senior.

It is only fitting that someone with the last name of Hollis turns in a big performance around the holidays. The first game of the day was a tone-setter for the remainder of Saturday's play at J.L. Mann. Hollis' 4A Southside assembling matched up against 5A Woodmont and the result was a gritty 49-46 win for the Tigers. She finished with 18 points. Her accuracy from 3-point range made all the difference as she drained six from 3-point range. She is listed at 5-foot-5 on the Southside roster. As her performance suggests, she plays more of the shooting guard role.

Something had to give late in the day at J.L. Mann when a contest of winless teams featured 4A Crestwood and 3A Belton-Honea Path. The Knights did not resemble a winless team that time and Williams' 16 points got Crestwood into the win column for real for the first time in 2024-25. Williams excels on defense as she is one of the Knights' leading blockers. With her ability to play at a variety of spots on the court, she is every bit as versatile as she is talented. There is a reason as to why she is on the rise in our 2025 rankings. Two words. Unsigned. Senior.

Mangle got the job done from all angles against 5A Wade Hampton. Carolina Academy began feeding her the rock in the interior more consistently in the second half and the result was a 47-36 win to dispatch of the Generals. She finished the game with 15 points. Mangle understands the art of being physical in the interior and being willing to draw contact that can put her at the free throw line. She is a vocal leader as well. One element of her rebounding skills that can stick out is how she will haul in her own rebound in case of a missed shot. Mangle has no issues being able to muscle her way past defenders en route to the rim.
