The Dover Lady Pirates have been the epidemy of dominance in the 3A classification. They sit with a 23-0 record, with 11 wins in the 3A-5. They are averaging 51.7 points per game while holding opponents to 30.0 points per game. They have defeated 4A and 6A schools, while dismantling everyone in their conference, only allowing their 3A-5 foes to score 22.4 points a night.

This team features players who are already committed to play basketball at the next level, along with others who have bright futures in hoops.

Let me bring your attention back to their conference opponents. They are not playing bad teams by any means. The second-best team in the 3A-5 is Baptist Prep, who has a 17-5 overall record and only 1 loss in conference. That lone loss was the 66-36 defeat to Dover just a few days ago. Mayflower and Perryville have winning records in conference and Haskell Harmony Grove is right at .500, but they have all suffered beatdowns at the hands of the Lady Pirates.

Dover was solid in 2023/24, but they racked up 9 overall losses, including 3 losses in conference play, which was good enough for 2nd in the 3A-5. Now, they are inflicting nothing but destruction upon their opponents, and they are not letting up any time soon thanks to their go-to devastators.

[player_tooltip player_id='417402' first='Logan' last='Young'] will provide much-needed help to a struggling Arkansas Tech team next season. For now, she will continue to tear up the defense with her all-around play.

The first part of Young's game that I should mention is her scoring ability. She has one of the best scoring averages in the state, putting up 20.5 points a night. I have talked about Young in the past, and she has an old-school type of game. Her go-to move is the turn-around mid-range jumper. She uses great elevation to propel herself over the defense, then splashes the jumper with a pure form. Young has been a double-digit scorer in all four years on varsity, and she has made some strides in her game during the 2024/25 season.

Young was a 32% 3-point shooter as a junior. This year, she knocks down threes at a 46% rate. Her free throw percentage has also improved, increasing from 73% in her sophomore season to 91% as a senior.

On the other side of the ball, she is extremely active. Young averages 2.6 steals and 0.8 blocks per game. She also asserts her will on the boards, averaging 5.3 total and 2.7 offensive rebounds a night.

Along with being a consistent passer, [player_tooltip player_id='417402' first='Logan' last='Young'] has done just about everything her team could ask of her. She has improved her shooting numbers, she crashes the glass, and she is a defensive stopper. The Golden Suns will be lucky to have her, but her job is not finished until Dover reaches its one true goal.

[player_tooltip player_id='876339' first='Kenzie' last='McCrotty'] is another player who has been a primary scorer for the Lady Pirates since she was a freshman. Once again, the guard impresses on the court in her third year on varsity.

McCrotty is one of the best 3-point shooters in the state. She has knocked down 42 triples on a career-high 45% clip. She is capable of lighting up the scoreboard whenever she has a look from long-range. Her quick release is tough to stop along the perimeter, but she is dangerous on the move as well.

McCrotty averages 15.8 points per game while shooting a highly efficient 53% from the field. If she cannot finish at the basket, then she was probably fouled. The junior makes 90% of her free throws and could be one of the few players in the high school ranks to join the 50-40-90 club if she keeps up this play.

[player_tooltip player_id='876339' first='Kenzie' last='McCrotty'] also averages 1.8 steals per game, showing her worth on the defensive end. The Pirates will be needing her efficiency in the playoffs.

Yes, [player_tooltip player_id='465498' first='Kadee' last='Keaster'] is at Dover High School, not Atkins High School. This is her first year with the Lady Pirates since transferring from their 3A-5 rival, and she has made a major impact.

Keaster is the best passer in Arkansas. MaxPreps' national numbers are not always accurate, but the senior averages 8.9 assists per game, which is good for third-best in the country according to their records.

She is truly a pass-first guard, running the offense flawlessly. For a high school point guard, it is hard to believe that she only averages 2.0 turnovers per game, especially since she controls the ball so often. Her assist-to-turnover ratio this season is 4.47, just to provide more evidence for her elite playmaking ability. Of course, she can do much more than just facilitate.

Keaster averages 9.5 points per game on 45% shooting. She has also made 13 shots from long distance and she converts 80% of her shots at the charity stripe. Even as a point guard, Keaster is Dover's best rebounder, pulling down 5.7 boards a night, including 1.0 a game on the offensive end. She is also one of their best defenders, averaging 1.9 steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='465498' first='Kadee' last='Keaster'] is a fantastic floor general who will be instrumental when it comes to involving the team's two double-digit scorers in the playoffs.

Lily Titsworth- Dover has elite shooters, and Titsworth is another one of them. She averages 6.2 points, and she lands just outside the 50-40-90 club, shooting 52% from the field, 41% from 3, and 82% from the line. Her floor-spacing ability is invaluable, in addition to her excellent rebounding and defense. The junior guard averages 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals a night. She can do a bit of everything on the court, and I imagine her play will skyrocket during the 3A tournament, as well as during her senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1091205' first='Kimber' last='Cox']- Cox transferred from 1A-3 Maynard High School where she flashed a lot of potential. Now playing in the 3A classification, the sophomore is contributing well as a role player. Cox averages 5.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game. Dover does not have an over-abundance of size, so [player_tooltip player_id='1091205' first='Kimber' last='Cox'] has had to play more in the post, but she has taken on that challenge well, emerging as the team's third-leading rebounder and second-best shot blocker. Her future in a Pirate jersey is bright.

Junior guard Madison Spradlin, sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1275320' first='Paisley' last='Standridge'], and senior Kennedy Cox also provide valuable minutes each night.

Dover is 23-0 for a reason. They dominate on the defensive end, with 5 players averaging 1 or more steals a night, but they are also lethal on the offensive end. They hunt for good shots, shooting 49% from the field as a unit. The Lady Pirates also shoot 35% from beyond and 77% from the free throw line. Those numbers are nearly impossible to hit at the high school level, but head coach Mike Heath has done an incredible job bringing in talent and drawing up game plans for his talented players to execute.

Dover looks ahead to playing Perryville at home on Tuesday, then a Friday matchup at Mayflower. They also host Haskell Harmony Grove and Baptist Prep at home before hitting the road again in their final regular season contest against Atkins. We shall see if they remain undefeated, but the numbers are in their favor.
