I am very fortunate to be able to see a lot of these girls compete and play on multiple platforms. No, I don't have a daughter, but this class has some very impactful kids who are going to be gamebusters for years to come. I am just taking their body of work currently and what they have done during the travel ball season as well.

Growth is one word that comes to mind when talking about the stock risers in this class. For instance, what one may do during travel ball may not be the same thing they do on their high school team. For example, one might be a shooter in the summer, but turn around and be the primary ball handler for their high school team. Therefore, you see them in a different light, but also they are adding tools to their toolbelt in order to become a better player. Does this hinder them? Who knows. In my opinion it makes them more lethal because once they figure it all out, they become even more deadlier.

Within this class, you have girls who have been asked to do multiple things. Of course they can put the ball in the hole, but their skills have enabled them to play other positions or draw tougher assignments that will help their ball club win. It may not be something that they are use to, but down the road what they are doing now is just going to make them an even bigger prospect. Here are some young ladies who are playing different positions that they normally wouldn't play, but are excelling at doing their new job.

During travel ball, she is an off guard, spotting up on the wing, attacking gaps, drawing defenders to make a kick out pass for three or dishing it to a post. For her school, she plays the one, slicing through presses, starting an offense. The ability for her to break down the opposition is what makes her deadly. She can score it from all 3 levels, defend, grab boards, get steals, ect. Her ability to adapt to being a primary ball handler makes her even more tough as she can control the tempo of the game, the play starts and goes through her, and she can efficiently find favorable spots for her to knock down her shots. This kid is solid and will continue to grow into a solid prospect.

I've seen her in multiple platforms, she is a big guard who can play down low, spot up on the arc, handle the ball and get a paint touch. She is used in multiple ways and can pretty much exploit whatever a defense is giving her. She knows how to use her size to her advantage and with her ability to knock down shots from multiple spots on the floor, makes her a sure thing. She plays with poise, locks up on the defensive end, and contributes on the boards. What makes this kid tough is that she has a lot of weapons in her arsenal. If she needs to play low, she can, if she needs to play wing, she can, if she needs to handle the rock, well, she can do that too. This kid is tough and look for her to continue to get better and be a nuisance on the floor.

Can play inside, can stretch the floor from the arc, can play the wing and attack. This kid is getting comfortable and gaining so much confidence. She has been battle tested, playing a solid travel ball schedule and playing in a tough high school league. Her size creates mismatches, however it is her speed that gives her an advantage. She can shoot from 3, knock down the mid-range, and finish around the rim attacking from the arc or playing back with her back to the basket. She is solid on the defensive end, getting steals, blocking shots, grabbing boards. Her size and length pose a threat to opponents. Keep an eye on this girl as she continues to master the game.

2 guard who is now running the point for her squad, let's just call her a combo guard threat. This kid has handles and can run an offense efficiently. If something occurs and breaks down, she can go get you a bucket. She went from being an off guard who can knock down the three and attack from the wing, to someone who can be a floor general and facilitate the offense. Whatever position this kid plays, know that she is hungry and is going to impact the game. She isn't just an offensive threat, but reads and reacts well defensively. Steals, deflections, helping the helper, this kid is always in the action somehow and some way. Look for her to continue to grow and be the next Lady Eagle to advance onto the next level.

Super talented kid who gets after it. In her mind, the game slows down to where she creates a favorable environment. She doesn't let the moment get the best of her. What I mean by that is she is a “smooth criminal” as you never know what she is going to do. On the defensive end, she will bait you into turning the ball over. She will pick your pocket, make you throw an errant pass, or just flat out make you look a certain type of way. Offensively, she can be a ball dominant guard coming off screens or using her handles to take someone off the dribble. She too can attack from the wing or spot up on the arc. She has been used multiple ways but you better believe she isn't allergic to getting a bucket. This kid is solid and will continue to thrive the more court time she has.
