Boardwalk Showcase Shining Stars

Georgian Court was host to this year's Boardwalk Showcase, organized by Hoop Group. There was certainly no shortage of talent, with high powered teams squaring off, putting their talented rosters on full display in front of a large crowd. Yours truly was in the building, notepad in hand, taking in the high level of play!    She executed at a high level & was a big asset for the Big Blue Warriors! Strong ball movement; worked the ball around the perimeter & passed up “good” shots for “great” shots. When putting the ball on the deck, she showed confident going both left and right. Tireless energy, high motor.     Kayden put her fadeaway on full display & tallied points first Squan. She was excellent from the short & mid-range. Confident shooter through traffic w/ zero hesitation in her shot selection; she made some tough shots look really easy! She kept up the intensity throughout the duration of the game, with breaks coming few and far in between.     Liv showed no fear & made her presence felt on both sides of the ball. Confident, in-your-face 3-point shooter. She pushed the pace in transition & made sure she either got the ball up ahead to dashing teammates or took it the length of the floor all by herself. Stood her ground on defense, kept active hands & forced turnovers. Fiery, competitive guard play on full display from the senior who earned Player of the Game for Manasquan.     An imposing force today against Manasquan! She was vocal calling for the ball in the low post. Fought through the double well. Strong hooking over her left shoulder to tally points for the Bucs. Major rebounding presence. Excellent verticality on defense for the denial around the rim without getting called for the foul. At times, she even stretched out to defend the perimeter. Her movement looked great today & didn't look gassed while playing the entire game.     She showed off confident ball-handling & the ability to penetrate to the rim. She broke down the 1st level of defense to give herself the space & freedom to create. Once she put the ball on the deck, she basically did whatever she wanted, whether it was attacking & scoring or dishing underneath the basket. She is the nucleus of RBR's offense & it's evident why! Savvy guard with crafty moves that range from an effective hesi dribble to a pretty spin & step thru. Synai's got the goods!! She earned Player of the Game honors for her squad.     MiMi had it all going on today vs NJ power Red Bank Catholic, earning Player of the Game honors when it was all said and done! She danced with the ball in her hands and showed off that trademark razzle dazzle she's well known for! She was excellent at breaking down defenders & slicing to the basket, most times finishing through a ton of contact. Multi-level scoring on full display today. She showed integrity on defense, diving for nearly every loose ball & scrapping for possession. Mia played with so much heart! Tennessee is getting a DAWGGGG!     MyMy was cool, calm & collected vs RBC. No matter the defensive scheme that they threw her way, she was able to find gaps & create for her team. She never looked rattled or taken out of her comfort zone, yet pushed the pace & played aggressive basketball all four quarters. She attacked the basket fearlessly, getting the hoop and harm highlight multiple times. Mya was rock solid on defense, forcing turnovers at a rapid pace thanks to her scrappy demeanor. She was excellent at disrupting the flow of things for RBC. It's safe to say her two-way game was absolutely clicking on all cylinders!     Morgan was truly a game-changer this afternoon. She secured a game-high 11 rebounds which proved crucial as the game got closer and closer in the second half. Really strong put-backs off the o-boards. She was a defensive anchor around the rim for MC, swatting away multiple shots & really imposing her will down low.     Jax had the hot hand from deep early on & never lost it! She drained three triples with a quick release, making it quite the task for RBC defenders to close-out. Her movement was fluid in transition, really thriving in MC's run-and-gun style of play. She got it done on both sides of the ball, crashing the glass hard from the guard spot & pulling down 9 rebounds.     She had a stellar showing against nationally ranked juggernaut Morris Catholic. Tess did a phenomenal job absorbing contact in the low post & finishing at a high level; impressive footwork & a soft touch to finish at the rim. She looked quicker & stronger than in previous games. Very fluid movement getting up & down the court, at times leading the way in transition. She was fearless, never intimidated by the moment or the opponent. A big who can dominate in the post but also step out & confidently take/knock down mid-range shots, run the floor hard & protect the rim… whewww watch out! I was super impressed with her all-around game.     Addy simply would not be denied today, earning Player of the Game honors for RBC after a closely contested matchup with Morris Catholic. It's no surprise that she's one of the best players in the nation's ‘26 Class, because her two-way game was clicking, per usual! The offense flowed through her today & she made the most of every touch. She scored the ball inside & out, playing tough around the rim, sinking turnaround mid-range jumpers & even throwing in a triple. She played with so much fire and intensity, commanding the court & being a vocal leader for the Caseys. Her length was problematic, especially on the glass, where she pulled down 7 boards. Addy is TOUGH AS NAILS.     Stella posted a strong double-double & was SJV's Player of the Game recipient in a fiery duel with Blair. She brought physicality & unwavering confidence to the floor against a Bucs team that upped the pressure and tried to make life miserable for her. She was able to fight through the double, absorb contact and lay in some tough baskets. She put in work on the glass, crashing harder than anyone else on the floor & pulling down rebound after rebound. She defended down low & up near the perimeter, using her length to swipe four steals. Her ferocity on both ends of the floor helped seal the win for SJV.     Cheech played efficient minutes today & was a huge asset for the Lady Lancers. She chipped in six points (zero turnovers) and snagged a pair of steals, making an impact on both sides of the ball. Her poise continues to impress, because by watching her play, you'd never know she was a freshman! She is one of the best in her Class for a reason! She gets an A+ today.     Ava balled out today & did everything she could to help keep it close vs SJV. She ran the point with total control, pushing the pace & moving the ball up ahead whenever the opportunity presented itself. Her speed was blitzing, speeding past defenders to the basket & tallying points quickly. She stepped into 3 balls & showed off that deep range she's known for! Very savvy guard play. She's the type of player who makes everyone around her better & more efficient. She was named Player of the Game for Blair.
