Strange but it's true. Musicians want to be ballers. Ballers think they can be musicians. As athletes, we blare music to get our juices flowing. Artists hoop in the driveway or the rec. IDK, but you get my point. I will say this, in both professions/ industries you have to be creative. You can't just be boxed in. You have to be creative thinkers. Creative doers. Creative beings that excel at your craft and get the job done.

So writing this got me thinking and a song popped in my head. Imagine that (lol). Music artist Pharrell teamed up with Clipse, a hip-hop duo back in the day, to do a song called “ Grindin.” It's a unique beat for sure, but for whatever reason it made me think of point guards who push the ball and grind away at the opposition. I love the PGs in this ‘27 class because of their creativity and their ability to attack their opponents. They can create off the dribble, run an offensive system effectively, distribute the rock, lock up on the defensive, and so much more. The PGs in this class are some game changers who can affect a game at a moment's notice. These dynamic guards just know how to get the job. Not only that, these young ladies are proven winners who have been able to showcase their skills on multiple platforms and excel at it. Of course they are doing work here within the state, but also are going across different regions holding their own as well.

In this class, when it's all said and done, will have some PGs that will go onto the next level. They will go to some solid D1 programs and be effective building blocks for programs. I'm calling it now. These young ladies have the intangibles to go out and do great things.

There are plenty of PGs within this class who have the goods. Here are just a few that I will say that are in the upper tier at the moment who are speaking the interest of collegiate coaches as we speak. They may be young but have shown through a solid body of work how they get the job done. Check out some top PGs in the 2027 class.

Shifty guard who brings that bulldog mindset to the party. She is going to get downhill and attack you like no other. Using her tight handles, she is going to utilize her quick first step to get a paint touch. She's going to either finish at the rim, get into her floater game, or kick out to an open teammate. Jade can score it on all 3 levels, so you must honor her skill. Slowing her down is a tall task, however just know she is going to figure out how to affect the game somehow. She is a solid prospect who continues to jump on collegiate coaches' radars.

Heady PG who can push the ball in transition. She can get downhill to finish at the rim, knock down the 3 ball at a consistent clip, run any offense efficiently, and go to work in a one v one opportunity. She keeps her head on a swivel, making the right play. She can easily shift to playing off the ball, either way, her presence on the court brings value to her team and is a threat to her opponents. She's nice on the defensive end too. Keep an eye on this prospect as she continues to add more tools to her toolbelt.

This PG is super tough and she comes out and sets the tone for her ball club. She is a scoring PG who can pull it from multiple spots on the floor as well as get to the rack. Exodus confidence, this kid gets after it on each and every possession. A prolific passer. When the ball is in her hands, she knows how to make the right read. I love how she can thread the needle as well as she passes through tight windows. A young Chris Paul like, having her on this squad gives them the edge for sure. Keep an eye on this girl as she will be impactful for years to come.

Scoring PG who is special with the ball in her hands. Can play the 1 or the 2, either way she is deadly. A creator who can get downhill, stop and pop from three, come off screens, you name it, she excels within any offense, making it tough for defense to stop her. This kid is no stranger to the bottom of the net. She is confident in her shot every time the ball leaves her finger tips. Add in her ability to read and react, you got one solid prospect who just keeps lighting up the scoreboard. She is a hustler who competes on both ends of the floor. Look for her to continue to get better.

Energy giver who is a lighting in a bottle. This kid is the spark plug and her teammates thrive off what she brings. A scoring PG who can get it done on all three levels. She can pull up, spot up, attack gaps, finish off two, and do so against contact. She is also going to contribute in other components of the game as well. She's big on the boards, she dimes up her teammates, she is a dog on the defensive end, getting steals and blocking shots. This embodies the game of basketball and her work ethic shows how much she loves the game. Her skills continue to evolve and the more she plays, the deadlier she gets. Keep tabs on this young lady because she is something special for sure.
