Scoring Greatness: The Exclusive 1,000 Point Club

As we approach the end of the season, a few players have recently joined the 1,000-point club. This milestone requires years of consistent play and healthy seasons. Not everyone can say they've scored 1,000 points in high school, but these ladies are now forever etched into their school's history books.    [player_tooltip player_id='346856' first='Sy'monique' last='Simon'] reached an impressive milestone during her senior year as a consistent four-year starter at Cardinal Mooney. The senior scored her 1,000th point on a deep three-pointer at the halftime buzzer—a memory she'll cherish forever. This season, Simon is averaging 12.8 PPG and has maintained a career average of 10.6 PPG throughout high school.   Her playing style, which helped her achieve this milestone, is built on hard, gritty defense, crashing the boards for second-chance points, and a smooth mid-range jumper that keeps defenders on their heels. She's also known for her ability to knock down in-motion threes and has been a consistent free-throw shooter, with a career average of 68% from the charity stripe.     [player_tooltip player_id='428046' first='Izellah' last='Kendrick'] joined the 1,000-point club in her senior year as a four-year starter at Bloomingdale High. Kendrick is currently averaging 11.2 PPG this season and holds a career average of 11.6 PPG, demonstrating consistent contributions throughout her high school career.   Kendrick achieved this milestone through her versatile playing style, which includes skilled post moves to finish at the rim with finesse, a reliable mid-range shot, and the ability to knock down threes. She is also a consistent rebounder and capitalizes on free-throw opportunities, shooting 63% from the charity stripe.     [player_tooltip player_id='751628' first='Chamiah' last='Francis'] not only reached the prestigious 1,000-point club, but she did so as a junior—a rare accomplishment. Chamiah is not only one of the top players in Florida but also one of the top players in the nation. In just three years at Booker T. Washington (Pensacola), she has averaged 15.8 PPG and an impressive double-double with 11.3 rebounds per game throughout her career.   This season, she continues her consistent production with averages of 14.2 PPG and 10.3 rebounds per game. Francis achieved this milestone with a versatile playing style that combines old-school post dominance with new-school techniques. She spreads the floor, beats opponents off the dribble, and has a reliable mid-range shot.   Francis is often the most dominant player on the court, and like many 1,000-point scorers, she consistently capitalizes on free-throw opportunities, shooting 61% from the line over her career. It won't be long before Francis joins the 1,500-point club, and the 2,000-point club is well within reach.     [player_tooltip player_id='248697' first='Paisley' last='Binswanger'] joins the illustrious 1,000-point club as a junior, a feat accomplished by only a select few high school players. The Sarasota High combo guard (CG) has been a consistent leader and scoring threat since her freshman year, leading her team in scoring for all three seasons. Paisley reached her 1,000th point with her signature euro step, showcasing the smooth and creative style that has defined her career.   There's no single way Paisley achieved this milestone—she's a versatile three-level scorer with a high basketball IQ. She can knock down the 3-ball, with over 300 career makes so far, attack the rim and finish efficiently with a 52% career field goal percentage, and capitalize on free throws, shooting an impressive 77% from the line.   Paisley has averaged 15.7 PPG over her three-year career and is averaging 20.7 PPG this season. She's well on her way to joining the 1,500-point club, and the 2,000-point milestone is certainly within reach.     Jolesa Birkhead is finishing her high school career at Winthrop, where she has been a scoring machine for the team. The combo guard (CG) has averaged 16.4 PPG over her career and an impressive 20.1 PPG this season. Birkhead does most of her scoring from shooting the ball, having made over 450 three-pointers in her career, including 179 this season alone.   Birkhead also utilizes her speed, agility, and ball-handling skills to blow by defenders and get to the rim. She is a creative scorer who forces defenses to adjust, as she can not only shoot the three but also stop on a dime and transition seamlessly into her pull-up jumper. Her ability to finish with either her left or right hand allows her to take what the defense gives her and remain consistent at the rim.     [player_tooltip player_id='1138056' first='Bryleigh' last='Florio'] joins the rare 1,000-point club, an achievement made even more impressive considering how few high schools have multiple 1,000-point scorers. Not only has she reached this milestone, but she also accomplished it as a junior, which is even more exceptional. Florio has averaged 16.3 PPG over her high school career so far and is currently averaging 17.0 PPG this season.   Florio excels at attacking the rim in transition, finishing with her left hand effortlessly. She can also stop on a dime to execute a two-foot runner or floater. Additionally, Florio has one of the most consistent shooting forms and follow-throughs, making her a threat both off the dribble and the catch. She has consistently demonstrated these scoring abilities, which have been instrumental in her reaching the 1,000-point club. [player_tooltip player_id='346853' first='Janai' last='Jordan'] has been a consistent scoring threat for Providence at the PG position throughout her high school career. Janai has averaged 10.6 PPG over her career and is currently averaging 9.4 PPG this season, matching her best scoring season as a junior, where she averaged 13.6 PPG.   Janai's ability to remain composed under pressure at the PG position is a key factor in her success. It's not often that a do-it-all point guard reaches the 1,000-point mark, as their primary responsibility is to initiate the offense, ensure ball movement, and create opportunities for their teammates. Janai possesses the skill and basketball IQ to dissect defenses by finding open teammates while also capitalizing on open shots.   Her ability to knock down the three-point shot, especially off screens, effectively stretches the defense. Janai doesn't shy away from aggressive defenders, protecting the ball well and often drawing fouls. She has been nearly automatic from the free throw line, shooting 75% over her career.   There are many things Janai does that don't show up on the stat sheet, but they leave a lasting impression on everyone who has played with or against her.
