With quick shuffle steps and swift lateral movement, she defended the perimeter and didn't make it easy for the ball-handler. She stuck to the ball and did a great job forcing turnovers in the back court and off the in-bound pass. The freshman scored a quiet 13 points, the second most on her team today, and pulled down 5 rebounds in a win over George (PA). She did most of her damage in the second half, draining buckets from all 3 levels, but primarily doing damage from the mid-range. Her 15-foot jumper is a thing of beauty! She ran the floor tirelessly, switching from offense to defense seamlessly and maintaining high energy throughout! In the second half, Ava turned it up a notch, battling hard on the glass and being assertive. On a team with a limited bench, she came in and put the clamps on defensively to make life miserable for the Lady Lancers. Pesky, disruptive on-ball defense forced turnovers and ignited transition offense for Morris Catholic. She also made her presence felt on the glass, skying up for rebounds, unafraid to battle against players much taller than her. She was quite impressive against Red Bank Catholic despite the loss, tallying 22 points and scoring them in a variety of ways. She knocked down a pair of triples and put the defender in a blender with a lethal pull back crossover into a 15-foot jumper.
