Thursday evening brings us more high school ball across the state. There aren't as many games as there were on Tuesday but that is because a lot of program are playing tomorrow and Saturday as well. In this article we highlight some individuals to look at on Thursday evening during their contests if you have a chance. Every individual listed has some edge to their game and they are looking to continue with that moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='842542' first='Trista' last='Ohlmeier'] îs putting together a senior season to remember with her MVAOCOU squad. Ohlmeier is not only putting up impressive numbers in her own right with 15.7 PPG on 46% shooting and 11.5 RPG but her team is also sitting with a 14-1 record as they look to end their season off on a positive note in a couple of weeks. Ohlmeier is this groups presence in the middle of the lane. She is someone that stands taller than most at 6'1/6'2, she is really athletic for her size, and she has great movement. I'm not sure if this is someone that is committed with another sport but if not, there are several college coaches in the basketball world out of the Midwest, who would love a 2025 commit with this size. If she continues to play smart basketball, who knows who could be reaching out before the end of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1160550' first='Vivian' last='Zaruba'] has been a crucial piece to her Lone Tree team's success this season as they currently sit at 12-3. Zaruba, a CG, is a versatile piece, that can play all over the floor for the most part and her stats back that up. Her numbers look something like 10 PPG, 6 RPG, and 3.3 APG, demonstrating that she is willing to do whatever is needed for her team to be successful. This is one of a few senior leaders that Lions compete with on an every day basis. If they stay mentally prepared, they should beat Cedar Valley Christian (0-14) tonight.

Every season that I've been the scout for Iowa, Treynor High School has always been in the conversation for the State Tournament for their Class. I don't know if it's their seasoned prospects, smart coaching, and overwhelming support by their community but it's something that you love to see. The leader for Treynor this time around has been 2026 SG, [player_tooltip player_id='595157' first='Nora' last='Konz'] and she is looking to keep the momentum rolling in their contest against Athletic High School this evening. If you match up personal between these two programs, Treynor should hold their own and come out with a victory while Konz has a good showing. The power and strength of the Trojans is their post presence so Konz should eat as a guard. Especially if her groups plays team ball, per usual.

Baxter (8-5) will host a battle on Thursday evening against Earlham (5-8), as they look to stack a few more wins before the seeding for Playoffs is released. For Baxter this season, they have had some notable players step up, one of them being their Freshman PG, [player_tooltip player_id='1160567' first='Kamdyn' last='Krampe']. Krampe is actually one of two twin's that starts for this varsity program and she puts up meaningful minutes, along with better than average numbers for her age level. She currently leads Baxter with 15.4 PPG on 35% shooting, while also bringing in 6.1 RPG. To understand that she is doing this as a first year varsity player, at 5'5, makes it even more noteworthy in my book. If you have a chance on Thursday night to watch a game or stop by in the Baxter area, do it. This is someone that is fun to watch and I think that's only going to grow over time.

Heartland Christian is sitting with a respectable 9-4 record throughout their first 13 games so far this Winter, prior to talking on Cedar Bluffs in just a few hours. Heartland Christian is another program with an emerging underclassman group. This group is highlighted by their 2028 Forward, [player_tooltip player_id='1160578' first='Corine' last='Anderson']. Anderson is a beast in the scoring and rebounding departments on the game. She is a Top 3 producer in PPG (8) for her program, while being listed at #1 for her group in RPG (10.3). These numbers are consistent for Anderson and that's something she will be able to build on moving forward. If I recall correctly Cedar Bluffs does have some taller prospects under the hoop so it'll be interesting to see how Anderson adapts. If she plays her game, she should be just fine.
