Heading into the weekend, I'd like to highlight a few standouts so far this season. This weekend, I'll name a few teams I've had the most fun watching this season in games I've attended.

The speed at the lead guard position is underrated publicly, but Love can get by anyone at any time. Her ability to explode off the dribble opens up numerous possibilities to score or create, and in a system that values maximizing possessions, Love can excel in a low-possession game. She's been among the top scorers in the state this season, and that's mainly based on her ability to create off the dribble. She may not receive the plaudits others in her 2026 class do, but Love is among the more dynamic guards in Wisconsin.

After the 2023 class left Union Grove a few years ago, I didn't know what to expect from the Broncos. However, they've been excellent since Hafferkamp assumed a prominent role in their rotation. She's been their leading scorer the past few seasons and led Union Grove to another Sectional Title game a season ago. Her ability to find ways to score has been impressive, and her consistency has been noteworthy throughout her time with the Broncos. I admit, I was skeptical early on in her junior season, but she's continued to succeed each time she steps out onto the floor.

The Siren guard has always been able to shoot the ball, and she's been effective this season for the Dragons. She's been in double-figures scoring in all of Siren's games, except one, which they won by double digits. Peterson is a solid rhythm shooter, and when she finds time and space, she can hurt teams quickly. The senior has been a fixture in Siren's rotation since her sophomore season and is the leading scorer in the Lakeland-West this season. She's a small school kid in high school, but smaller schools should take a look at her if they have time.

The 5'10 guard has done a bit of everything for Platteville to aid them to an 11-1 start and an undefeated 4-0 start in the SWC. Richard is among the state leaders in assists and uses her length to be a hassle on the defensive end of the floor. She's routinely found easy points in transition and been a 14pt/6ast/5reb/4stl kid as a sophomore, which is more than uncommon in the SWC. Richard is a multi-sport kid who'll earn plenty of options to pursue athletically at the next level, but she's opened my eyes this season.
