The holiday season means it's time for the annual Winter rankings update. As it pertains to the Class of 2027, we have expanded the overall rankings and watch list from 125 total prospects to 150 total prospects, so there will likely be a handful of new names on each position list. Below is a look at the Combo Guards in 2027, with some analysis on a few who have stood out for one reason or another since our last update.

[player_tooltip player_id='834934' first='Azaria' last='Finn'], 2027, 5-7 CG, Evansville North H.S.
- Azaria is a nice, athletic guard who continues to work on her game. She can affect a contest in different ways, whether that means attacking the basket for scores, creating offense for teammates off the dribble, or even knock down an open rhythm jumper. If needed, she can even slide over and play more of a traditional point guard role and initiate the offense. She's also a willing and capable defender who can make plays on or off the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='751101' first='Marissa' last='Pleasant'], 2027, 5-5 CG, Marquette Catholic H.S.
- Marissa is a ball of energy who can affect the game in a number of ways. She plays fast in transition and can get downhill quickly in the halfcourt. She probably has more of a scorer's mentality at this point in her career, and she can knock down open jumpers, but she also has point guard skill and understanding. She can handle the ball, create for teammates, or just run system stuff. She's also an active and pesky defender who can collect steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='751079' first='Ja'Nyiah' last='Rogers'], 2027, 5-5 CG, Purdue Poly H.S. (Englewood)
- Ja'Nyiah is a fun-to-watch prospect who is still somewhat under the radar. Don't sleep on her though, because she can go. She has length, speed & quickness, and she plays with a nice motor. She can create for herself or teammates off the bounce, get to the rim, and finish around defenders in a variety of ways. She has some touch outside, plus she can develop into an elite defender. Her speed & length allow her to cause steals/deflections.

[player_tooltip player_id='756250' first='Hallie' last='Schwieterman'], 2027, 5-8 CG, Jay County H.S.
- Hallie was a budding star a year ago, contributing to the Varsity team in a big way as a rookie. But this year, she is averaging 20.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 4.4 steals per game. She has an extremely long, wiry-strong frame, she is a fluid and smooth athlete, plus she is skilled whether she's playing either backcourt position. She can knock down open shots, slice to the rim, or create for teammates. She's also productive defensively.
