The CPU Stormin Pointers had an absolutely dominating performance as a whole on Saturday night as they ended up winning their contest by over 55 points. In this W, several players contributors but on the top of the leader board was [player_tooltip player_id='1143270' first='Maya' last='Burkhart'] at the SG position. Burkhart shot 5-11 overall from the field recording a game high of 12 points. This is someone that plays off the ball from the SG position and because of that, she has several attempts from behind the three point arc this Winter. She is always ready in the terms of catch-and-shoot situations and that helps her see some success. Prior to this matchup, we picked CPU to move forward after Round One and that's what we had happen here. Now they need to get ready to battle opponent #2 coming up later this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1194333' first='Addy' last='Oetker'] is a college level PG, plain and simple. Oetker of Des Moines Christian High School is another underrated prospect out of the state, that can do some damage on both sides of the ball. She is a guard that comes in right around 5'7 and she competes with a tenacious attitude. Her game is extremely patient overall, as she never seems to be pressured or sped up. If you go back and watch Oetker this Winter, you can just see the promise oozing out onto the court. Her knowledge of the game and what to do in each situation is some of the best I've seen this season across multiple states and that speaks to what she can bring to the table as a whole. This weekend the Lions moved to 19-3 on their season with a major victory over Nevada High School by 34 points. In this performance, Oetker registered 23 points (11-14), 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 7 steals - making her mark on the contest in every little way conceivable. Survive and advance. That's what it is all about now that it's the Post Season. If the Lions can continue to show out like this, they might end up surprising some people come State Tournament time.

The powerhouse that is [player_tooltip player_id='882728' first='Grace' last='Albertsen'] showed out for Harlan Community over these past few days, making an impact near the hoop with her mixture of length, quick reflexes, and knowledge of the game from a strategic standpoint. In Harlan's big win to move forward on Saturday, Albertsen finished with 17 points (8-10) and 12 rebounds. With this stat line, it's important to note that within those 12 rebounds, 10 of them were on the offensive side of the floor for the Cyclones. This just goes to show you how this group dominated and where a lot of their production came from. They also happen to have a guard on fire shooting the ball from deep in Molly Swensen. When you pair those two things together, it is tough to stop. Hopefully this crew can keep riding this momentum. They looked very good in Round One. Now it's time to see what they can put together moving into their next matchup.

As of late we are getting a first hand display of why [player_tooltip player_id='311367' first='Jayden' last='Kuper'] of Monticello High School is a college committed prospect in this sport. Kuper, a SF who is a force to deal with all over the floor, has been on a tear this Winter for her Senior season. She has been holding her own at all three levels offensively, while being someone that can get multiple stops on the defensive end in the blink of an eye. In their last contest again Camanche, Kuper scored 22 points (8-14), 12 rebounds, and 4 assists. Not to mention, she also went 4-6 from behind the three point line in her efforts. This stat line led the Panthers in each of those categories on the evening but this isn't anything new. Their group currently sit at 16-7 and they are prepared to keep things rolling.

The ELC Midgets are looking to make another big run to the State Tournament at the 3A level this season before sending off their impressive Senior Class to the next level. In this Class, someone that has always played an important role in their success is [player_tooltip player_id='842545' first='Rylee' last='Yager'] at the Forward position. Yager does whatever is asked of her to be successful. She is a prospect that can control the land by the paint at a thorough rate, she is efficient in her movements, and she always leaves it all out on the floor. In their contest against Eagle Grove, the Midgets almost won by 70 points and Yager led everyone with 23 points (11-15), 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists. I do think this team makes it back to State if they compete this way. They have everything they need to be successful, now it's all abut showing up.
