[player_tooltip player_id='873458' first='Avery' last='Michels'] has been a sniper for her team this year, sharing the court with a strong starting five, all capable of scoring in double digits on any given night. She helps keep the floor spread with her consistent ability to knock down threes from well beyond the arc. The 6-foot guard has a perfect follow-through, making every shot look like it's going in. Avery is also patient in allowing the offense to develop, excelling at finding open teammates for easy buckets. She isn't afraid to attack the rim, especially in transition, where she capitalizes on fast-break opportunities. A 1,000-point scorer, Avery will play a major role in her team's success as they make their run in the 2A playoffs.

One of her best performances came on December 13th, when she recorded a double-double with 20 points and 16 rebounds. For the season, she is shooting an impressive 54% from the field.
[player_tooltip player_id='221602' first='Kori' last='Edge'], one of the best guards in the state, is lethal on both the offensive and defensive ends. There isn't much she can't do from the point guard position—leave her open, and she'll knock down the shot; play her too close, and she'll blow by you; help on defense, and she'll make the right pass. Defensively, she is a relentless pest, quick to steal the ball. Already a state champion, her experience will play a major role in Miami Country Day's quest for another state title.
