Class of 2027: Sophomore Breakouts

Morgan made a loud statement in December with a 32 point performance against 6A Norman North. She was unstoppable from three in that contest, hitting at least 6 triples. She continued the hot streak with 23 points in a rivalry win the next week. And has continued to apply pressure with double digit scoring throughout the season. The sophomore has a silky touch from deep, along with good size and all around game. Very promising foundation, already with a translatable college skill (shooting). Expect Morgan and her Lady Eagles to make a Class 5A State Tournament run.     A bucket getter for Casady. Boone has a tight handle, with a killer crossover that leads to confidence when pulling up from off the dribble. She can also blow by the defense, with outstanding footwork to either slash through defenders. Or play off two feet, stopping for pull ups and floaters over the outstretched arms of opponents. Her offensive production has also translated to wins for her private school. As the Lady Cyclones have a 13-8 mark and are ranked 18th in Class 3A.     Skilled sharpshooter, who plays the game in attack mode for Mannford. Lethal off the dribble, with quick pull ups or using her long limbs to gracefully slice to the basket. Smooth when stopping to pull up from distance. Great variety to her scoring and will pull the second the defense gives her space. Add in good defensive awareness, and she fills up the stat sheet on both ends for the Lady Pirates. Is putting up some of the better scoring numbers in Oklahoma. Including a 61 point performance over two games in one week. While she can play on the ball, also has the size, wingspan and skillset to be off the ball as well.     Last week Glisson hung 38 points in a win over Heritage Hall. It was a very impressive performance of off the dribble shot making from deep. Along with controlled and smooth finishing at the rim. She played at her own pace all night. With quality handles and the type of functional athleticism that wont "wow" anyone. But has more than enough quickness and strength to be handful and in control off the dribble. Was in attack mode on the night, but also a heads up driver. Who can dish and create as well.     Making steady waves in 6A for a young Trojans core. Love the all around scoring game for Sykes, regularly in double figures. Has sneaky wiggle and burst when it comes to attacking off the bounce. With the footwork and body control to avoid defenders on the way to the rim. Competitive on the defensive end as well. Rock solid foundation for a player who is cutting her teeth in Oklahoma's biggest classification and has clear collegiate upside and skill.     Franklin has made big strides this year. Super productive player, averaging around a double double and impacts the game in a variety of ways. Long arms and tenacity allow her to fly around to block shots and force turnovers. Has good variety to her scoring with drives, triples and finding spots in the mid-range. Battler mentality with a good skillset should lead to an increase in college interest over the next 18 months.     Intriguing athletic guard, who has had scoring spurts for 6A Deer Creek. Explosiveness is apparent with blocks and deflections on defense. While also having shifty handles to go with her first step that allows her to pressure the rim. Is coming off a game changing performance in a win over Yukon. Where she made head turning plays on both ends of the court. Has the raw athletic traits to continue to rise for a promising Deer Creek program.     Sleeper prospect who caught the eye last grassroots season with good size and athleticism. Has made strides in a notable role this year with Bethany. Has been active on the glass on both ends, with a couple double doubles. Next level athletic ability is apparent in steals and other transition plays, where she's fast and in control. Can quickly turn defense into offense with the way she pushes it off rebounds. Intriguing set of tools, that is starting to lead to production in famously loaded Class 4A. Also a soccer standout, so her future could lie on the pitch. But has clear collegiate potential in basketball as well.
