USE CODE "tinnon30" FOR 30% OFF THE FIRST PURCHASE OF ANY SUBSCRIPTION

Let the games begin. Last week, I mentioned to you all how cool it would be to have one big tournament that has one champion. I believe other states do something similar to this, but for us here in this state, we have six different classifications crowning six different champions. Which is fine and gets more schools involved, however it's hard to actually crown a true champion when you have so many of them.

So I took the liberty and adopted a NCAA March Madness model that I would apply to this article. Using the state's demographics, teams would be slotted West, Central, Northeast, and Southeast. Teams will be placed accordingly based on their TSSAA state rankings that the USA Network of writers vote on. Team records were taken in consideration as well as the point based merit that the voters used to place teams based on their schedule and overall records in their prospective classifications. Teams listed in this are from the Week 13 rankings.

Publications who voted included:

The Daily Herald

The Jackson Sun

The Daily News Journal

The Tennessean

The Leaf-Chronicle

The Commercial Appeal

Teams for this bracket will be slotted based on where they finished due to record and votes. Starting with #1 based on records and points, teams were placed in their current brackets.

#1 seed got their choice of area they would start off in and then everything else fell in line with that.

(All schools listed are TSSAA member schools along with a few Tennessee Independent Schools)

The Play-In Tournament takes 16 teams based on their record and they play a win and advance tournament amongst themselves. They are divided up by quadrants and the winner of each quadrant will be placed as the 16th seed in the February Frenzy

I will go into more detail throughout the story, but here is the introduction to the February Frenzy. In the articles, I will discuss key players from each team and then flip a coin (heads representing home/ tails representing visitors and will do so to get a winner 2 out of 3 times)

Play In/ Pre Qualification Brackets (All Pre-Qualification Games will take place in the Nashville area)

At: Tennessee State University

1

Clarksville Christian (10-0)

4

Clarkrange (14-10)

2

Stewart Co.
