Hamilton at Sunnyslope OPEN Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Thursday, February 20th I viewed the second round of the OPEN playoffs with #6 <strong>Sunnyslope </strong>hosting #11 <strong>Hamilton. </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It was a battle the whole way but it was only a two-point lead at halftime but Slope made it to 8 heading into the 4th and then [player_tooltip player_id='530986' first='Kylie' last='Rarrick'] and [player_tooltip player_id='754702' first='Margaret' last='Luba'] closed the deal with a<strong> 61-50</strong> win. [player_tooltip player_id='589954' first='Sage' last='Henry'] and [player_tooltip player_id='624028' first='Taylor' last='Sipfle'] held their own in the game for Hamilton. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here were the standouts</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='754668' first='Teagan' last='Mcilroy'] Sunnyslope (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A lead guard was dropping dimes all game long. She sees the court quickly and has a tight handle in close spaces impressively. She will score with threes off the catch, blow by layups with her left or right hand and is a great rebounder for her size. She scored 9 points with multiple assists.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='530986' first='Kylie' last='Rarrick'] Sunnyslope&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A combo guard has a pretty three point stroke off the catch. She hit some critical ones in the 3rd to give them a bigger lead plus hit some clutch free throws down the stretch. She also has quick hands to collect steals or will block shots. She scored 13 points.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='754702' first='Margaret' last='Luba'] Sunnyslope&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A top rated bigger guard played well. She scores from all levels with threes, polished floaters and will finish it off inside. She rebounds well for her size and scored 14 points.&nbsp;She has to defend from inside and out due to the lack of real size on the team. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='819334' first='Amelia' last='Mickelson'] Sunnyslope&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A versatile wing forward with good size and toughness. She holds her ground in the post versus taller players and is a great rebounder in her area. She will close out to a shooter and block a shot and will take it coast to coast to score plus shoot the three. She is one of the team's three point specialists off the catch and it looks good on every attempt. She will also score with put backs and moves without the ball. She scored 8 points.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='837359' first='Shannon' last='McIlroy'] Sunnyslope</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A highly skilled undersized point guard who is scrappy on defense. She will rattle in triples with a very high arc and poured in 9 points.&nbsp;She handles the ball pressure well. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='589954' first='Sage' last='Henry'] Hamilton&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A very talented bigger scoring combo guard sees the court well but she is a bucket. She will score with fall away Dirk moves, deep threes, and-1's in traffic floaters and offensive rebound put back. She hit a few step backs that most don't even attempt. She scored 23 points.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='624028' first='Taylor' last='Sipfle'] Hamilton&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The biggest player on the court was menace most of the game. She got doubled and sometimes tripled teamed. She will score with turn around fall aways, offensive rebound put backs, inside buckets and is a sneaky good passer. She will score getting downhill and hit threes with some range. She is a good on-ball defender and a great rebounder for her size. She scored 8 points.&nbsp;<br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
