On Tuesday, February 18th I viewed the first round of the OPEN playoffs with #5 Pinnacle hosting #28 Horizon.

From start to finish the home team was in full control led by the dominant play of [player_tooltip player_id='825620' first='Norah' last='Moo'], who surpassed 1,000 points during the game, en route to scoring 17 points. Pinnacle won 57-28.

Here were the standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='825620' first='Norah' last='Moo'] Pinnacle

An inside force takes up a lot of space to rebound in and out of her area. She corrals the ball off the glass in bunches with elite hands and will often score on put backs. She will rip thru with her left or right hand and shoots it well from the line. She will also block shots in area. She scored 17 points with close to 10 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='600342' first='Shishawna' last='Begay'] Pinnacle

A scoring guard is a bucket. She is very active and will often dive on the floor. She will rattle in threes from the corner and has enough speed to score with blow by layups. She scored 11 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='808288' first='Rylee' last='Fraley-Gonzales'] Pinnacle (Pictured)

A pure point guard was showing off with her advanced court vision. She was throwing ropes up the court and some needle threaders with one or two hands as she guides the offense to a T. She will score on back door layups and get a steal and lay it in.

[player_tooltip player_id='677263' first='Nevaeh' last='Limbacher'] Pinnacle

A fluid power forward with incredible size and length. She is a menace on defense but will score it too. She scores with offensive rebound put backs, counter moves with her right but actually often uses her left more to score with tough contested layups. She also quick hands in the passing lanes and scored 9 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1139081' first='Sloan' last='Bogardus'] Pinnacle

A tough wing forward is scrappy to collect steals and score it in transition with layups. She is cerebral to play off of the pick and roll action and find a teammate. A perfect glue player for the Pioneers.

[player_tooltip player_id='659954' first='Lyla' last='Campbell'] Pinnacle

A sophomore sharp shooter comes in off the bench and is ready to fire away. She will hit the three off the catch or pull-up from mid-range. She will have a bigger role when Begay graduates next year.

[player_tooltip player_id='852314' first='Claire' last='Carnal'] Pinnacle

A quick scoring point guard handles ball pressure well in the open court. She scores with blow by floaters, layups and contact and-1's.

[player_tooltip player_id='754698' first='Peyton' last='Schiltz'] Horizon

A versatile all-around player plays a lot of the lead guard role for the Huskies. She will score from inside and out with the floater game, drop step moves and threes with range off the catch. She scored 7 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='797280' first='Avery' last='Olson'] Horizon

A highly skilled freshman power forward or face-up center. She is a great rebounder in her area and will block shots plus is good in the passing lanes. She has a pretty stroke from well beyond the arc and can fall away in the post off of her defender. She scored 8 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='927947' first='Paisy' last='Perkins'] Horizon

A post player with great size and fluidity. She is talented enough to handle the ball up the court and moves well in space to defend from inside and out. She will score with offensive rebound put backs, drop steps into a hook and rebounds well plus block shots. She also sees teammates for the assist. She scored 6 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='992602' first='Mackenzie' last='Fields'] Horizon

A versatile freshman plays multiple positions for the Huskies. She will score with mid-range pull-ups, get downhill and often gets to her spot with a nice handle and will rise up. She also rebounds well in her area. She scored 5 points.
