Mastering Basketball Fundamentals: Skills of Young Prodigies

I will say this, I have seen more creativity in the game than ever before. I am talkin' about tween, tween, step-backs. Maybe even tween, tween, punch step, crossover into a J. Combinations as such have been on the uptick as of late.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I may be old school, but I remember my coaches yelling to make sure I had the proper footwork when doing a layup. Shoot my dad even tells me now everyone in the world travels these days especially when they are doing a step through. Here is my point, the game has evolved and basic fundamentals just can't get you by like they used to. Well, you are in for a surprise. This girl has all the intangibles, especially in the painted area. I mean she has the footwork, the inside hand, the scoops, and add in her ability to knock down the 3 ball, she's money. This kid has had a stellar senior season and isn't done yet. This kid is nice when she has the rock in her hands. Mind you she can score it from all 3 levels, it's how she does it which is very impressive. All those combinations from above, you know the hesi/cross/punch/ step-back, well she got that and some more in her bag. Keep an eye on this prospect. This kid is shifty as all get out. She's hard to contain as she can get to favorable spots with ease. From deep, from the paint, middy, the ball is going to find the bottom of the net. How she got there, just makes you shake your head. The skies are the limit for this kid. Look, I know handling the ball using your footwork is one thing, but having post-up moves that you utilize to own the painted area is another. Jayda is smooth with it, using her size to gain space. Her ability to drop step, face up, and excel in the screen game is uncanny. This kid is a menace with the rock in her hands. A 3-level scoring threat that can utilize her handles to knife through a defense. I mean this young lady is tough and it shows in her style of play on both ends of the floor. She has all the counter moves in her arsenal, she's one tough athlete to slow down for sure.
