We are one week away from the seeding meetings involving the formula the WIAA will run through their computers. In honor of the postseason coming around the corner, let's look at one kid per division who could swing a sectional game we don't expect.

I've talked about how ridiculously good Klesmit has been this season, but it still doesn't do her justice. We're talking about a kid who played second fiddle to Allie Ziebell last season and somehow, with more volume, has managed to be more efficient without her than she was with her. Klesmit has been unquestionably the second-best player in the FVA, and no defense has figured out a way to slow her down. Klesmit, depending on health elsewhere, could be the best player walking into Sectional 1 in Division 1.

Grafton has four games left, and there is a chance they find their way to sectionals. Whenever you put together a group of scrappy kids who can maximize the possessions they get in a game by how hard they play, they'll give themselves a chance. Tagliapietra is a kid who flies around the floor and uses her athleticism to get to loose balls or jump passing lanes. Teams who aren't used to that will have some issues dealing with someone like that, especially when there's a team of them. Tagliapietra's two-way ability could shine in regionals.

Quietly, over the past two seasons, Jensen has been amongst the best defensive forwards in the state, and I don't see her mentioned much anywhere, even though her role in the middle of her team's 2-3 zone earned them a trip to the state tournament last season. Her size, length, and mobility frustrate teams because she changes the offense's shot profile when she's on the floor. They've lost a few games they shouldn't have, but the defense, anchored by Jensen, will give them a shot in every sectional matchup.

A year of experience has done Olson well. She's been a more efficient volume scorer for Cameron and has them in a game on Tuesday that could earn them a share of the Heart O'North Conference. She's been a shotmaker for the Comets, and her 37% three-point shooting on eight attempts per game keeps defenses on their toes. The Comets have an intriguing balance in their backcourt with Olson and Lexi Kuffel, which will be a challenging team to beat in Sectional 1.

Pacelli may have been too young to make a deep run last year, coming up short against an experienced Athens team, but they've learned from their mistakes. Zdroik is the kid who could lead an upset over Assumption and Lena because of her ability to do everything. She can pass, score, rebound, and defend multiple positions at the D5 level. She's recorded a few quadruple-doubles, which likely wouldn't happen against high-level D5 teams, but it emphasizes that she does everything.
