Standout Athletes in Week 11 of Women’s Basketball

Kudos to all the young ladies who showed up to show out. What makes me proud just like all those who support women's basketball is the energy and effort these young ladies display when they are playing this game. We have talent in this state and though oftentimes it is overlooked, it is valued more than other things. Or I should say should be valued more.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here are just a few standouts from Week 11 around the state. This young lady is back! After missing all season due to a shoulder injury, the allure of family, teammates, and community couldn't keep this young lady from doing battle with them and for them on the court. She has been rehabbing like crazy to get back onto the hardwood and in her return, dropped 19 points in her first game back. She's on a mission and that's to help her school win a state title. This kid is tough displaying a multitude of ways to exploit a defense. From stretching the floor to doing work in the interior, this girl has shown countless times that she is the real deal. She has had a stellar season of doing work from all three levels, uplifting her club along the way. A confident kid who dropped 35 against Franklin, Ella just has such a scoring acumen that is hard to stop. She's a heady ball player who can pick her spots to exploit as coaches try to gameplan to slow her down. The Quinnipiac signee is trying to help the Lady Bruins lift up a gold ball this season. It's been hard for teams to slow her down this season as she has been giving them fits throughout the year. This past week she has put up stat lines such as 32 pts, 12 boards, and 5 steals. Then turns around and has a game of 25 pts, 12 rebounds, and 5 steals. Doesn't matter the opponents, her numbers have been consistently like that all year. This kid is just built differently and it has shown in all her contests this season. She's a hungry individual who just grinds away at the competition. Putting up solid performances and being consistent in all four quarters, this kid has truly helped uplift this ball club. This dynamic ball player has truly found her footing this season. A sensational sophomore who doesn't dodge the smoke at all. She's been an X factor for her team, getting it done on both ends of the floor. Dropping 20 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and a steal, she was feeling it against Dobyns Bennett this past Monday. This dual sport athlete joined an exclusive club grabbing her 500th rebound last month. She's a gamer who sets the tone for this ball club.
