Weekly Top Performers for Feb. 3-7

It is also shifting to which seniors are preparing to sport their school's colors for the final time.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With state play lurking, every player on every team is looking to be at peak performance to make a deep run that could potentially have their respective teams in Florence early next month. Johnson's play got Indian Land out of the realm as she tallied 11 points in a 37-23 win over the Copperheads. She is a freshman that can operate at either of the guard spots in the backcourt. Johnson gets the art of allowing defense to create offense and is difficult to contain when she gets out in transition with the ball in her hands. Pensule ultimately concluded her Tuesday evening with 10 points in that 37-23 win over the Copperheads for her team's first region victory of 2024-25. Pensule is an effective ball handler and passer who will find lanes to drive to the cup and she has no problems drawing contact to get to the free throw line. Five of Pensule's 10 points occurred at the charity stripe. Berninzoni still put forth a spirited effort to lead her Catawba Ridge assembling with eight points. As someone who stands at 5-foot-11, that will allow her to make plenty of plays close to the rim and win plenty of rebounding battles. She is a transfer to the Palmetto State from Colorado. On Friday night at home, she led her 3A Walhalla squad to a Region 1-AAA championship as her 19 points lifted the Razorbacks to a 65-49 victory over West-Oak. It was the 12^th consecutive victory the Razorbacks have earned vs. the Warriors dating back to 2019. Thirteen of Roach's 19 points were placed on the scoreboard in the second half and that enabled Walhalla to pull away from West-Oak in the contest's latter moments. She came into the Razorbacks' contest with region rival West-Oak off the bench and displayed why she is part of coach Byron Wimphrie's starting lineup on most occasions. She placed 17 on the scoreboard to earn Walhalla a 65-49 win – and a region championship. White stands at 5-foot-11 and is as effective a rebounder as she is a scorer. She was also effective in the midrange game and was a huge reason why West-Oak simply could not match the interior height presented by the Razorbacks. Mobley led her team with 14 points while the Warriors were on the bad end of a 65-49 decision to the Razorbacks. Even against the taller defenders of Walhalla, Mobley was still able to find lanes to the rim and finish strong at the cup. She stands at 5-foot-5 and can get herself in position to corral plenty of rebounds in addition to what she can do on defense.
