<p>On <strong>March 7<sup>th,</sup></strong> the <strong>6A Basketball Championship</strong> took place at <strong>Veterans Memorial Coliseum</strong>. It was the #1 <strong>Gilbert Tigers </strong>taking on the <strong>#3 Hamilton Huskies. </strong>The game started<strong> </strong>slow as both teams struggled offensively. At the half, <strong>Hamilton</strong> held a 19-11 lead. The final quarter is when the real action began. The <strong>Tigers</strong> scored more points in the 4<sup>th</sup> quarter than they did in the first three quarters combined. A double-digit lead was wiped away in a matter of a couple of minutes. The comeback was capped by an almost 60-foot game-tying three-pointer that sent the game into overtime. <strong>Hamilton</strong> held on in the overtime to secure the win, In dramatic fashion the Hamilton Huskies are the 2025 6A State Champions. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Sage led the way for the Huskies in the 2<sup>nd</sup> half and overtime. She made clutch free throws and shots down the stretch. She showed off her ball handling and athletic ability against a very good defense. She finished the game with 22 points, 14 of which came in the 4<sup>th</sup> quarter and overtime, and 10 rebounds. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Unquestionably, Ivy was the star of the game. She scored 15 consecutive points in the 4<sup>th</sup> quarter and overtime. These points came via three-pointers with defenders draped all over her. She finished with 30 points, 23 of which came in the 4th quarter and overtime. Her end-of-regulation past half court shot will be remembered for some time. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Sipfle was pretty much unstoppable in the paint during the first half. She was getting position deep in the paint and finishing with either hand. She also was very effective on the boards. She eventually fouled out, playing limited minutes. Taylor had a double-double finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">The versatile junior forward played her usual solid all-around game and was a part of the 2<sup>nd</sup> half Tiger comeback. She was operating from the mid-range in utilizing her very good footwork. Aspen finished with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">The freshman guard played with composure and good pace throughout the title game. She scored when she needed to and distributed the ball well to her teammates. Destinee showed why she is one of the better freshmen in the state. She finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds. </p>
