Class 2A Number One Seed Moundridge Advances

She had an impressive coast-to-coast drive in the second quarter that gave the Wildcats the momentum to finish out the first half. She is ranked No. 10 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. She is dangerous with the ball and finds open space. Unruh took over the game in the second half and finished with a team-high 26 points, shooting 9-of-13 from the field and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='836267' first='Hattie' last='Hecox']</strong>, 5'10”, PG, Moundridge, ‘27</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hecox loves to drive the ball, and she can score from three levels. She is super aggressive and always looks to score first but finds open teammates. She can play at any pace and really hurt teams in transition. Hecox likes to run the point, but I also see her as a possibility to play small forward for a college team. She is ranked No. 65 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. She enjoys rebounding. She does not have to be a top scorer on this team, but she can chip in points around the rim. The Wildcat sophomore extends possessions and can score with offensive rebounding ability. She can also force turnovers and created a key tie-up for a jump ball late in the game. She is ranked No. 164 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026.
