"[player_tooltip player_id='380066' first='Nevaeh' last='Tormaschy'] is a 6'2" senior post who was named to the All-Region 4 Team for the second consecutive season. She was the most productive and consistent player on the team this season. She led the team in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots. She is excellent on the defensive end, where she changes the game for the other team with her presence in the paint. Nevaeh improved immensely in her perimeter defense from a year ago as well. Offensively, she grew immensely in her shot selection from the beginning of the season to the end. She really did a nice job of getting close to the rim, and it turned her into a dominant scorer. Nevaeh has committed to play basketball at Mayville State University in the fall." 15.7 ppg, 8.7 rpg, .8 apg, 44.1 FG%

"[player_tooltip player_id='412033' first='Annabel' last='Scheeler'] is a 5'6" junior guard who was named to her third consecutive All-Region Team. After her sophomore campaign in which she was named to the Division A All-State Second Team, she commanded a lot of defensive attention this season, as it seemed that most defensive game plans were to limit Annie's scoring production. She battled through a nagging foot injury all season that affected her shooting ability, yet still had a tremendous season. Annabel's mere presence makes the rest of the team better players, and that has been her most valuable contribution to the Titans." 11.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2 apg, 33 FG%

"[player_tooltip player_id='1052902' first='Elly' last='McAvoy'] is a 5'6" senior guard who was named to the All-Region 4 Team. She is a three-year starter who improved her game each year. Known mostly for her suffocating defense, Elly became an impactful offensive player with her improvement on the dribble drive." 4.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.3 apg, 31.1 FG%

"[player_tooltip player_id='632103' first='Isabella' last='Kovash'] is a 5'9" senior guard who had a consistent all-around impact on the Titans this season. She's above average in every aspect of the game, but her defense at the end of the season and her ability to penetrate the lane turned us from a good team to a great team." 4.9 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 2.2 apg, 41.3 FG%

"Kambree Fleck, who finished the season as our fifth starter, is a 5'7" freshman guard. Kambree is one of the most natural basketball players in the program and has a basketball IQ right up there with Annabel. She missed half of the season while recovering from off-season knee surgery, but when she came back she changed our team in so many ways. She finished as our third-leading scorer in points per game, and she gave us a third option to handle the basketball. Kambree has a very bright future in front of her." 5.5 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.6 apg, 35.2 FG%

How would you sum up the season for your squad?

"The 2024-25 season for the Titans was one of growth, maximizing potential, and peaking at the right time. We struggled with consistency to start out, seemingly grasping our concepts one at a time over the course of the season. As coaches, we could see that the girls understood what we wanted to do, and they absolutely wanted to be able to execute, we just needed more reps and confidence in order for them to do it. We struggled through quite a few games, even losing to some teams that we shouldn't have, who absolutely outplayed us during those games. But it all started to come together in the last few weeks of the season, and that led to some beautiful basketball. We rolled through the Region 4 Tournament in an amazing week for the Titans. We were given the #8 seed at the Division A State Tournament and faced Devils Lake in the opening round. We struggled to start the game, but made it a five point game at the half. After trailing by 6 points after three quarters, we ran out of gas and lost 70-50. In the consolation semifinals, we beat a very good Rugby team who were winners of the Region 3 tournament. We lost in the 5th place game to Carrington by a score of 47-44. Earlier in the season they beat us by 28, and I think this game is a summation of how for we came as a team over the course of an amazing year."

PGHD: Do you have any fun memories you want to share with us?

"As a coach, regardless of how we finish the year, I'm a firm believer that all of the moments along the way are what we'll take away from a season. From our "streetball jersey" practice back in December to our unique trip to Carrington, we shared many memories along the way."

PGHD: How did your team overcome adversity?

"There were times this season when confidence was low, but our girls kept a tremendous attitude and found a way to stay focused each day in practice. Most of us prefer growth to be an accelerated process, but in reality, it's a step-by-step or a day-by-day thing. The girls understood that and kept improving each week. This process was player-led, and it was fun to watch as a coaching staff."

PGHD: What are a few things your team improved on throughout the season?

"This year's Trinity Titans were always pretty solid defensively, but we became really good toward the end of the season. We were able to mix up our defensive schemes and our girls thrived in doing that. We also won the rebounding battle in nearly every game even though we were outsized at most positions. Finally, we evolved from a low-scoring, stagnant offensive team to an attacking, higher-scoring team by the end of the season."

PGHD: Who are some role players that stood out to you?

"[player_tooltip player_id='1052993' first='Myah' last='Merry'] is a junior guard who has developed into a very good basketball player. We started the season believing she'd be a defensive substitute only, and she turned into a solid offensive player as well. Myah is the perfect example of what can happen when an athlete puts in serious work in the offseason (whether basketball related or not), and when they stick out a sport that they didn't excel in at a younger age. Myah has the potential to have a big senior season."

"[player_tooltip player_id='1052994' first='Calli' last='Berger'] is a sophomore forward who started to excel at the end of the season when she started to understand her strengths and how to best help the team. She was the best cutter offensively on the team and learned how to become a pest defensively."

"[player_tooltip player_id='1052991' first='Madison' last='Wegleitner'] is a junior forward who rebounds the ball very well and is learning to use her strength as a weapon. Madi had some nice offensive games for us as well. She started most games this season and was a sparkplug off the bench during the postseason."

PGHD: Can you talk about your seniors?

"We were blessed with three amazing senior leaders and team captains. [player_tooltip player_id='1052902' first='Elly' last='McAvoy'], [player_tooltip player_id='632103' first='Isabella' last='Kovash'], and [player_tooltip player_id='380066' first='Nevaeh' last='Tormaschy'] are special athletes and even better people. They will be impossible to replicate. Each of these three young women exhibits leadership in a different way, and their leadership styles complement one another very well. Nevaeh is a vocal leader and motivator. Elly is the quiet worker, yet always the funniest person in the room. And Bella is a talented athlete and personality who everyone looks up to, and she never, ever puts herself above any individual or the team."

PGHD: Who are some up-and-comers to look out for in the future?

"Jordan Tessier is a sophomore guard with a lot of energy and explosiveness. Mikayla Schwindt is a sophomore forward with a great shooting stroke and the potential to be a menace on defense. Claire Ernst and Eleena Kern are undersized posts, but relentless in their physicality and work ethic. Maddie Bren is an above-average shooter and was one of the better scorers on our junior varsity squad. Jaylie Praus is an aggressive guard who likes to attack the rim. We have a lot of talent currently in grades 7-9, and it will be exciting to watch those girls establish their places in our program in the offseason. Ellie Spradling is a great defender and a potentially great shooter with more time in the gym this summer."

PGHD: Who was your best defensive player?

"We had many standout defensive players this past season. [player_tooltip player_id='412033' first='Annabel' last='Scheeler'] can lock up any perimeter player and also guards well in the post. [player_tooltip player_id='632103' first='Isabella' last='Kovash'] evolved from a weak defensive player as a junior to very, very good as a senior. [player_tooltip player_id='380066' first='Nevaeh' last='Tormaschy'] used her length to protect the paint every single night. As a team, we finished the regular season as the #5 defensive team in Division A in points allowed per game. However, our defensive prowess starts and ends with [player_tooltip player_id='1052902' first='Elly' last='McAvoy']. Elly is a bulldog on defense who is always matched up with the opponent's best perimeter player. The Titans fed off of Elly's energy this season."

PGHD: Who was your interior player?

"[player_tooltip player_id='380066' first='Nevaeh' last='Tormaschy'] is an All-State caliber player who had an amazing season this year. She scored her 1,000th career point during the Region 4 Tournament and she broke the Trinity Girls Basketball single-game scoring record with 37 points versus Belfield! Nevaeh took her game to another level during the last month of the season and she's a big reason why our team won the region and advanced to the State Tournament."
