PGHD: How would you sum up the season for your squad?

"This season was full of key opportunities for the girls to get game deciding Varsity experience. Many of our games were decided in the last couple of minutes of the 4th quarter. All experiences, good or bad, will be used to help our group of underclassmen head into next year. For our seniors who aren't returning, such moments gave them valuable life experience with how to handle adversity and overcome challenges with a team."

PGHD: Do you have any fun memories you want to share with us?

"Our team loved our team camp trip this past summer to Lincoln, Nebraska. This is a group of girls that truly all love spending time with each other. Any time they are together, especially with a basketball, is a fun memory for them. Our most fun season memory included Lucy Bloom hitting a game-winner from a great pass, press break, and dribbling from Madison Stemwedel in a JV game as well as our best full-team game vs. Warner this year."

PGHD: How did your team overcome adversity?

"Our team overcame adversity by relying on and trusting in each other. Most all of these girls have been playing with each other since early elementary school. They know how to have each other's backs and lift one another up if they need it."

PGHD: What are a few things your team improved on throughout the season?

"This season allowed a group with little Varsity experience to get key situation experience throughout the year that we can continue to build on as a program."

PGHD: Who are some role players that stood out to you?

"Brooke Hlavacek, Ashelyn Klitzke, and [player_tooltip player_id='1048119' first='Ashlynn' last='Vavruska'] - all three of our All-Conference honorees stood out in the way that if one was having an off night, the other would pick up their slack. All three were key factors in keeping us in games offensively throughout the season."

PGHD: Can you talk about your seniors and what will be missed?

"We had a great group of senior girls that have played basketball with each other since second grade. It was really special to get to see all of those memories culminate on the floor this year. As a group, they really stepped up and played well together. Brooke Hlavacek was a prolific shooter on the 3-point line and extended her game by getting to the rim. Ashelyn Klitzke was great defensively and was always willing to go get the team tough 2s, especially in big moments. Grace Kahnke was our post and was always willing to do the dirty work and grab big boards. Griffyn Muller was a hard worker on both ends of the floor and a great encourager for her teammates. Andie Rislov was a great corner shooter and had an awesome baseline drive."

PGHD: Who are some up-and-comers to look out for in the future?

"We have a very talented group of kids who love the game. [player_tooltip player_id='1048119' first='Ashlynn' last='Vavruska'], an incoming sophomore, was an ECC Second Team All-Conference selection this year and the only freshman to be selected to an all-conference team. She is a great ball handler & flat out knows how to score. [player_tooltip player_id='1093257' first='Mylee' last='Sumner'] came off the bench for us this year and brought great energy on both ends of the floor and has a great rim floater. Addison Byer was another key player that came off of the bench for us this year. She is extremely athletic and uses her athleticism to get downhill quick to score or distribute. We have many other great players willing to do the dirty work, hit big shots, and fill key roles to make us successful such as Ana Byer, Lucy Bloom, Avari Gusso, Jayda Orthaus, and Madison Stemwedel."

PGHD: Who was your best defensive player?

"Ashelynn Klitzke was our team defensive player of the year. She understands the game of basketball well enough to remember personnel and scout and apply it to the court. No matchup was ever too big for her. [player_tooltip player_id='1048119' first='Ashlynn' last='Vavruska'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1093257' first='Mylee' last='Sumner'] also stepped up in big ways for us defensively this year."

PGHD: Who was your top interior player?

"Grace Kahnke and Griffyn Muller were our primary posts this year. Grace was a great passer and rebounder. Griffyn, although undersized, did a great job guarding the post and passing out of that position. Jayda Orthaus and Avari Gusso came off the bench late in the season to give us different looks from the post position and did a great job doing so."

PGHD: Any last comments/thoughts on the season?

"We are blessed to GET the opportunityt to work with such a great group of girls that share a love for the game. We are excited to see their skill development, confidence, and on the court cohesion continue to grow."
