<p class="has-medium-font-size">"<em>I think we grew up a lot from the beginning of the season until the end. We really wanted to make a deeper postseason run and finally win a few meaningful games. I feel that we certainly accomplished that. We won 18 games with a very young team that returns every player that played valuable minutes. We did have a few memory-making moments for a few of our players. Jr - [player_tooltip player_id='359445' first='Cara' last='Schlehr'] eclipsed the 1,000 point club and also broke the overall school record for assists in a career with 265. 7th - [player_tooltip player_id='1104745' first='McCall' last='Chase'] broke the overall season record for steals in a season with 100. I think overcoming adversity is definitely one of our weaknesses and something we need to focus on this offseason. We need to learn to play as hard as we possibly can regardless of the score, or the ball going in the hoop. We need to control the things we can control, like our effort, and body language. I think we really approved on playing defense as a team. This team always could match up and play defense, but it takes a certain type of individual effort to understand and want to play defense as a whole. We press a lot, and in order to do that, we have to communicate with each other for 32 minutes so that we can rotate correctly and still be able to recover to our own responsibilities. Something, I feel like we took pride in and got better at every single game. I think Jr -Morgan Torr was a great role player for us this year. She led us in offensive rebounds and was always willing to sacrifice her body for her team. She definitely could've been in the starting lineup all year, but embraced her role in coming off the bench. [player_tooltip player_id='1104677' first='Camrynn' last='Knorr'] was our only senior. Although she didn't play valuable minutes, she was a huge attribute for us in practice. At 6'2 she gave us great looks defensively and was key in a lot of our individual drills. 7th - [player_tooltip player_id='1104745' first='McCall' last='Chase'] was our starting PG, and probably our best on ball defender. She led us in APG, SPG, and most 3's made this year. She was an All District & All District Tournament player, and I know she has an appetite to want to achieve more as a team. 9th - [player_tooltip player_id='1104655' first='Addy' last='Iglehart'] has been starting since her 8th grade year. She grew up a lot this past year and became a very good spot up shooter and good defender. I expect her to hone in on her individual skill set this off-season and be even better as a sophomore. I think 8th grader [player_tooltip player_id='1104708' first='Sienna' last='Starr'] could potentially help us next year too. She has decent feet and has played a lot of basketball already at a young age. Our best defender was probably [player_tooltip player_id='1104745' first='McCall' last='Chase'] and Sadie Majeres. Sadie always took on the responsibility of denying/face guarding our opponents' best guard. She embraced it and absolutely loved doing it. She held some of our best guards in the district and region to some of their lowest scoring outings of the year. McCall is just such a bulldog. She presses the whole game and never stops sprinting. She plays great on the ball and always retreats even harder to get back into place. As I stated before, she set the school record for steals in a season with 100 and also had 106 deflections on the year. [player_tooltip player_id='359445' first='Cara' last='Schlehr'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1104657' first='Abba' last='Heinzen'] were two of our main post players this year. Cara had always been a PG in previous years, but with her height and skill set she became a big mismatch for teams playing from block to block and with her back to the hoop. Abba displayed great footwork at times, and did a wonderful job finishing with her left hand all year. This summer, these two girls will have to work very hard to improve more for us to have a chance at making it to a State Tournament next year. Winning 18 games and bringing everyone back that played valuable minutes is very exciting. I think as I stated before, that I really wanted this team to experience success in meaningful moments. As a coach, I feel like we did that, but in order to get over the hump we have to do it on a more consistent basis. I was proud of how we fought, and I truly believe we had a chance to win every game we were in. That definitely will motivate us all as a group heading into offseason workouts.</em>"</p>
