If you do not know [player_tooltip player_id='772236' first='Emilee' last='Skinner'] very well you can at least notice one thing and that is she is up for any challenge. Rdigeline had the toughest schedule regardless of classification when it came to the pre-season. They beat Copper Hills, Westlake, Grantsville and a lot of other talented teams in showcases and tournaments. Skinner does not shy away from the challenge as she is often guarding the best player on the floor. Her height, athleticism and skill allows her to defend multiple positions. She is that player that will go and do what you need her to do in order to help her team get the win. Most players have to sacrifice scoring for defense or vise versa but Skinner has the motor to do both. Her tenacity and her will always have her up for the challenge.

The Numbers

There is an age old saying that numbers don't lie and that is often times true but the numbers don't always tell the entire story. Skinner averaged over 26 PPG and over 10 RPG and she probably could have scored more this year and in her career. She was not left in to stat stuff or to get her average she was out there to win games. She scored 2,313 points and frankly could have scored 3,000 if she had the schedule a lot of other teams had. Skinner can get to her spots in the midrange and she can also attack the basket at will. Her shooting is solid and will only get better. The numbers tell part of the story but just know that all those points came off of double teams and more at times.

What Duke is Getting

Duke is getting a CG that can be on and off the ball. Skinner is skilled in the mid-range game and she has elite vision and passing. Skinner still has room to improve especially form beyond the arc. If she can really elevate her outside shooting performance she will have other players on the roster that could create for her and she could be a killer catch and shoot guard. Defensively she is strong and can use her strength to defend her position. She could be an immediate impact.

Leaving a Legacy

Skinner will not just leave a legacy at Ridgeline but she leaves a legacy in Utah as a McDonald's All-American. She is a player that a lot of young girls have looked up to and will continue to look up to. Duke will have a lot of fans from utah tuning in.
