4A Quarterfinal Talent - Wed Night

The field of eight teams has now been carved down to four after the games this evening, and while some games were closer than others, a few players stood out and impacted how their teams performed.    Green Canyon's win hinged largely on Kloey's performance. She handles the ball like it's on a string, completely in control of tempo and space. What makes her so difficult to guard is her ability to initiate contact, force defenders to commit, and then either finish through it or draw help and deliver a long, low dime to a teammate.   On the defensive end, she was just as impactful — disruptive in passing lanes, quick laterally, and one of the fastest players on the floor all night.     Ridgeline wasn't able to run its usual sets through Abby as the primary option, so she created her own production. Instead of waiting for touches, she attacked the glass relentlessly, cleaning up teammates' misses and converting second-chance points. When the offense stalled, her work on the boards kept possessions alive and kept the Riverhawks within reach.     Talyssa is the kind of player who does her damage quietly. She's not flashy or attention-seeking, but by the end of the night, she's sitting in double figures, and you almost don't remember when it happened. She plays within the flow, takes what the defense gives her, and finishes efficiently.   Even though the free throws weren't falling at her usual rate, she found other ways to score and impact the game, which proved critical in Green Canyon's overtime win.     One of the purest athletes in the freshman class is Sam. She runs the floor effortlessly and combines fluid movement with imposing length that immediately stands out. On the block, she was nearly automatic, sealing defenders and finishing strong through contact. Defensively, she closes space quickly, elevates with timing, and alters — or outright rejects — shots with authority, making her a presence teams have to account for on every possession.     Langi was the engine behind Desert Hills' performance. She plays with zero hesitation, attacking downhill and embracing contact on both ends of the floor. Her stat line filled up with steals, blocks, and second-chance put-backs, but it was her physicality and toughness that stood out most. She plays much bigger than her frame suggests, carving out space and finishing through traffic.
