<p>On <strong>March 7<sup>th,</sup></strong> the <strong>Open Division Basketball Championship</strong> took place at <strong>Veterans Memorial Coliseum</strong>. It was the #2 <strong>Millennium</strong> <strong>Tigers</strong> taking on #9 <strong>Valley Vista Monsoon</strong>. From the opening tipoff, <strong>Millennium</strong> was out to make a statement with their defense. Their pressure defense allowed them to build up a first-quarter double-digit lead. A run by the <strong>Monsoon </strong>got them within 4 during the 2<sup>nd</sup> quarter. At the half, <strong>Millennium</strong> had a 31-18 lead. The third quarter was much of the same as the <strong>Tiger's </strong>lead never got below 10 The fourth quarter was a continuation of the first three quarters as <strong>Millennium</strong> cruised to a <strong>57-31</strong> lead. The 2025 Open Division champions are the <strong>Millennium Tigers</strong>.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Lunan led the charge from the beginning with her energy, shot-making, and defense. She was on a different level from everyone in the game. It's not often a player outscores an entire team, especially in a championship game. The <strong>NC State </strong>signee finished with 37 points and 5 steals. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Wilson was her normal energetic self on both ends of the floor. Her activity on the boards repeatedly gave her team extra shots. Jada finished with 10 points and 13 rebounds, 6 of which were on the offensive glass. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Richardson, despite still being banged up from an injury in the semifinal game, came ready to play. She was very efficient in her floor play and facilitating the ball to her teammates. Dashia finished with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and only 1 turnover. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Bremer was on the boards with her length and toughness. She also showed the ability to be a face-up forward with her outside shooting touch. Bremer finished with game-highs in rebounds (13) and blocked shots (3). </p>
