Top Young Female Athletes Shining in State Tournament

My mistake you all, for not highlighting you all, so I am going back to do so. For one, I am going to say this about all our young ladies, no matter if they are in private school or in public school, we have some young ladies in this state who are worthy of playing at the college level. If I knew what the secret sauce was, I would give it to you in that what college coaches look for. As a player, I would tell you this: of course, hit shots, but also find value on the defensive end. As a coach myself, if there is a prospect who gets it done on both ends of the floor, I am all for that and probably won't take her off. So, girl, get your points, but also battle on the defensive end. As the Grindfather himself, Tony Alle,n says, “ All heart, grit, grind.” That's the mentality you need to have every time you take the court.   Now that I am off my soap box, here are the young ladies from the Division II-A division who finished as the TSSAA All-State Tournament team. Congrats ladies!    One of the best players in the state and is only a sophomore; this kid has power 4 schools clamouring for her services. She is a dynamic scoring guard who brings so much to the table. I love her temperament when it comes to the game. The way she approaches the game is next-level. She is a heady ball player who is solid on both ends of the floor. Uses her size to create chaos on the defensive end and always seems to be around the ball. Highly touted, this kid is just a grinder, and no matter the arena/ platform, she is going to show up and dominate. Sensational talent and is one of the top kids in the country.     The more I see her on the court, the more impressed I become. This kid is an all-around athlete. She not only contributes to her team on the defensive end, but when it comes to offense, she runs the system efficiently. I love her ability to score the rock. Most girls at a young age are good with standing on the perimeter and shooting. However, she can create off the bounce, kid a paint touch when need be, and get into her shot with ease. Her game seems to evolve the more she plays, and as I mentioned earlier, I always walk away even more impressed. She is a talented PG who is rising above all the rest.     She's a problem that hasn't been able to be solved. For one, she is physical on both ends of the floor. She owns the boards, going up and grabbing it with two hands and securing them. Offensively, she can play the low post and be physical. She can face up and exploit the mid-range, but now she has added the deep ball to her repertoire. So no matter what defense is thrown at her, or what defender draws the assignment, she has made them struggle because of her ability to be so diverse. She is super talented, and her game continues to grow. She's a solid prospect who still has three more years on these Tennessee hardwoods.     A very physical young lady who is tough in the interior. She battles against and through the opposition as she fights tooth and nail for every inch. She has an impressive body of work and she doesn't let anything stop her from putting the ball in the net. She can score it from the block, knock down mid-range opportunities, and is great in the screen game. She is a talented kid who isn't afraid to do the little things. Keep an eye on this young lady as she continues to mold her game for the next level.     Had a tremendous tournament where she was able to read and react, especially on the defensive end. This kid is a multi-sport athlete who is a tireless worker. By her playing multiple sports, her efforts translate from the diamond to the hardwood to the volleyball court. Her ability to be instinctive enables her to contribute on the defensive end as well as get good looks at the rim on the offensive end. She is solid, especially in the transition game in creating fast break opportunities. Though she doesn't get a lot of pub being on a talented team, this young lady is a tough competitor in her own right.     Only an 8th grader, she busted onto the high school scene in a big way. Her game is still evolving, but she is a beast, especially in the low block areas. Her ability to be physical and rise through the opposition is pretty impressive as she scores buckets. She moves well for a big, especially running the lanes and getting easy feeds from over the top. Defensively she owns the boards, blocks shots, and really makes it hard for any club to operate down low. She's going to be a problem for many years to come. It's in her DNA to do so. Solid kid with a very bright future.     An international sensation that just competes. Daria has so many qualities, it's hard to pinpoint a particular one that stands out the most. For starters, and if you didn't know, she is an Ohio State signee who will be a tremendous asset to their program. This kid can score the basketball, rising above opponents who contest her shot. She can spot up from deep, but also put it on the floor to get into her shot or attack the rim. She's on the boards but also blocks shots and can sit down and guard, too. Her long arms allow her to poke balls loose or get deflections, which usually translate into easy buckets. She was named MVP of the tournament, and rightfully so. A talented individual who will contribute right away at the next level.
