Who are the stars in the 4A title game?

Mark your calendars for March 14th, because De Queen and Pulaski Academy will be in the 4A championship game at Bank OZK Arena in Hot Springs, Arkansas. At one point during the season, these teams were undefeated, but De Queen lost their first and only game at Nashville, while Pulaski Academy never lost a game. Now, these two 4A superpowers will face each other for the first time this season to see who truly is the best team in the classification.   Pulaski Academy Lady Bruins    [player_tooltip player_id='1093280' first='Randi' last='Stewart'] has flourished in her large role this season. Her great play in the regular season is bleeding into the playoffs, as she scored 12 in the semi-final game against Nashville.   Stewart will dice up the defense with her handles. She can either pull up or step back to shoot a jumpshot, or she can barrel her way into the paint. She showed her offensive skillset in PA's playoff matchup against Arkadelphia, where she posted 21 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals.   On the other end of the floor, Stewart can use her long wingspan to deflect passes and successfully contest shots.   Even as a young player, [player_tooltip player_id='1093280' first='Randi' last='Stewart'] is called upon often. Now in the championship game, I would imagine she answers the call once again.     [player_tooltip player_id='1051956' first='Madison' last='Sanders'] has been the leader of this Lady Bruin squad all season. She now has the same role in the postseason.   Sanders is coming off a solid semi-final outing where she put up 18 points. This senior floor general is capable of going for big games like this and she has a tendency to play her best basketball in the playoffs. Having a veteran guard who will step up in the biggest games is very important, and that is what Sanders has proven.   Sanders is a solid outside shooter, but her bread and butter is when she drives to the basket and scores through traffic. She can also step back and let her younger teammates take over, but only if she sets them up with a nice pass.   I do not doubt that [player_tooltip player_id='1051956' first='Madison' last='Sanders'] will continue to be consistent in the championship game, so De Queen will need to find a way to slow down the other Bruins.     [player_tooltip player_id='1093288' first='Greenlee' last='Elmore'] is another consistent scorer on this Bruin team. She performed well during the regular season and continues to do the same in the postseason.   Elmore had 16 points against Nashville last round, which is no surprise when you consider how quickly it takes her to heat up. She is a great 3-point shooter who can knock it down off the catch and the dribble. Elmore's great handles and quick first step allow her to easily get by defenders as well.   [player_tooltip player_id='1093288' first='Greenlee' last='Elmore'] will be tough to stop in the championship. Nashville learned that the hard way.     With all of the great shooters on this Pulaski Academy squad, it is hard to believe that one player might be the best markswoman of them all. [player_tooltip player_id='454410' first='Sophia' last='Boyd'] takes that title and her 3-point shooting will be key for PA in the championship.   Entering conference play, Boyd was shooting 45% from beyond the arch. She had already hit 33 triples and I am sure she did more damage throughout the regular season. Boyd has already made some solid plays on the offensive end during the playoffs, scoring 11 in the semi-finals.   With her ability to shoot from outside, driving lanes open up quickly. If Boyd and her teammates can attack the paint while being able to hit from the 3-point line, then De Queen will be scrambling on defense all night.   This will be [player_tooltip player_id='454410' first='Sophia' last='Boyd']'s final game with the Lady Bruins. If she plays the way everyone believes she will, then there will be no reason why she does not hoist a trophy in her final game as a Bruin.    De Queen Lady Leopards    [player_tooltip player_id='875466' first='Shalyn' last='Lyle'] will be taking her talents to Russellville later this year, but for now, she will be looking to bring a championship back to De Queen.   Lyle has already played well this postseason. The senior had 24 points in De Queen's first round matchup against Pottsville and put up 18 in the semi-final game against Mills.   Lyle makes the game look easy. She can quickly get into the paint and finish amongst the trees while being a major threat from beyond the arch. With her quick release and ability to hit off the bounce and the catch, defenses will have a tough time guarding her. She can also make plays for others.   [player_tooltip player_id='875466' first='Shalyn' last='Lyle'] has some great scorers around her, but De Queen might have to rely on this star guard down the stretch in the title game.     Shalyn's twin sister, [player_tooltip player_id='875473' first='Jessie' last='Lyle'], is another phenomenal basketball player. Like her sister, she has had some incredible performances this postseason and she will continue to do so against Pulaski Academy.   Lyle had 16 points in the second round against a good Clinton team while posting 15 against a spirited Mills squad.   Scoring-wise, there is not much Lyle cannot do. She can shoot the ball consistently from outside, she can hit floaters and finish through contact, and she can get her teammates involved offensively.   The Lyle sisters are a deadly backcourt, especially when playing alongside [player_tooltip player_id='819148' first='Emma' last='Chambers'] and [player_tooltip player_id='999832' first='Landri' last='Liggin']. If De Queen wins this game, I would not be surprised if it was because of [player_tooltip player_id='875473' first='Jessie' last='Lyle']'s offensive play.     [player_tooltip player_id='819148' first='Emma' last='Chambers'] has made a major impact for De Queen in the playoffs thus far. This junior guard may end up being the biggest x-factor for her squad in the championship.   Chambers has scored double-digits and recorded at least one steal in every playoff game so far. In round 1 against Pottsville, Chambers put up 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 4 steals. The round 2 against Clinton, she posted 13 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. In the semi-final versus Mills, Chambers played her best game, logging 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 steal.   It is pretty clear that Chambers can impact the game on both ends of the floor. She is an excellent driver who scores a lot of points at the line and in the paint, but she is a player who can play hounding on-ball defense against the opposition's best guards.   Every team needs an elite two-way player and De Queen has one in [player_tooltip player_id='819148' first='Emma' last='Chambers'].     [player_tooltip player_id='999832' first='Landri' last='Liggin'] was coming into the postseason with a recent offer from Hendrix College. Since then, she has made it clear as to why she was offered in the first place.   Liggin has had two 16-point performances in the playoffs, with one against Clinton and the other against Mills. With her ability to shoot from beyond the arch, it is not hard to see why she ends up scoring double-digits against tough opponents.   Liggin is a great shooter off the catch. As soon as she receives a pass, a shot is going up. She then showcases her quick release and high arch on her shot. Once it falls in, she will run down the other way and prepare herself to play great defense.   [player_tooltip player_id='999832' first='Landri' last='Liggin'] is another player who could have the greatest impact against this Pulaski Academy team in the championship.    This game might feature two of the greatest teams to ever come out of the 4A classification, especially with their elite guard rotations. I highly recommend you pull out your popcorn and watch this team in action on the 14th.
