As graduation nears and another class leaves out the door, we tend to look back at all the accomplishments that class brought over the years. When I think about the 25 class, I tend to think about how grateful I am. You may be wondering how a guy like me feels this way, but to be truly honest with you, the 25 helped uplift a lot of programs around the state.

Here are just a few examples:

Bradley Central went on their amazing 3-peat run.

We have numerous young ladies in this class who will be playing at power four schools.

The state championship tournament was fun, with a vast array of different schools representing their community.

Capturing the love of the game coincided with the upswing of next-level basketball.

My point is this: the 25 class was and is a part of the growth of the game around the state. Their contributions and efforts helped add to or lay the foundation of better basketball within this state. Like I said, I will be forever grateful for that.

Here are some young ladies who stood out in my mind that had sensational careers and outstanding play throughout the course of their high school ball.

Never in my life have I seen such a selfless basketball player. She went from being a top 2 scorer on a squad to being a defensive juggernaut. Think Andre Iguadala for those who are basketball fans. She is a 3-level scoring threat, however, when she came to Bradley, she became something the team truly needed. She rose to be one of the best defensive stoppers in the state to go along with her scoring prowess. This kid is tough and will be exceptional at the next level.

Though her senior season was cut short due to injury, never have I seen someone help instill confidence in a program like she did. It wasn't like Goodpasture had all these 6 footers walking around on campus. She, along with a core of teammates, resurrected a program and brought faith. When she was on the court, it was like all her team operated on one accord. She brought the energy, instilled confidence, and just got after it by scoring, making timely assists, and locking up on defense. When she gets back healthy, just know she will be a problem once again.

She is a prospect who really looks the part. Every time she laced it up, good things were to come. She was a selfless player who could /can do it all. She can work on the inside and star from the arc as well. She made all the hustle plays such as diving for loose balls, saving the ball from going out of bounds, and rebounding going after the basketball with 2 hands. She is definitely someone younger should model their game after.

a kid who just always gave it her all. No matter what was needed, she attacked the assignment and owned the opportunity. From scoring the rock from all 3 levels, playing different positions, locking up on D, getting steals, rebounds, this kid was phenomenal and played the game with such energy and passion. She is a relentless worker who has such a motor on her. Didn't matter the opponent or venue, Hil was always ready to compete as soon as that ball was tipped off. She played hard every second she was on the floor, giving it her all. Look for her to create even more havoc on the next level.

A lot of kids battle adversity, but it's how they bounce back is what makes all the difference. This kid never once made an excuse for anything. Even when she didn't make the team, she knew in order to be a part of her team, she needed to get back in to lab and do work. Not only did she become a solid ballplayer, but she also became a leader who led by example. A hard worker who worked tirelessly to become who she is. Talk about hours upon hours in the gym, her hard work paid off towards earning an opportunity at the next level. A selfless person who worked her tail off to get to where she is going.
