Smith's shot blocking ability makes the opposing team think twice before attacking the basket because she can and will send their shots launching. Her size makes players alter their shots and when she is off the floor, her absence is felt.

Brodner displayed hard working defense in the paint as she moved block to block quartering her man before finally stepping out for interception upon entry pass. On the offensive end, her teammates consistently look for her and she catches a lot of difficult passes down by her ankles or even way above her long reach. She makes quick turns to the baskets while keeping the ball high for easy finishes.

I coined Castillo a rim running big, but she can't be boxed in because she's extremely versatile, especially for her size. She consistently sprints the floor and because of this is able to score on layups. She uses a beautiful dribble drop step to go middle and finish as the defense collapses on her. When Mekaowulu rebounds, she uses a power dribble to clear out space before finding the outlet pass. Again, what she lacks in size she makes up for with power and a sound basketball IQ.

Double doubles are not rare for Maxey. Teams do not have an answer for Maxey's strength as she outpours her man on the low block actively posting. She is vital in transition defense because she controls the lane and eliminates easy buckets in the paint as she consistently sprints back.

It is vital for bigs to keeps the ball high and Collins understands this. She likes to drop step baseline and use her size to maneuver a shot off. High arching shot around the rim. Collins shows great mobility and an ability to guard in space meaning she can defend outside of the paint and open areas of the floor.
