With the Spring grassroots season in full swing, I wanted to take a moment to press 'pause', go back, and look at the Shooting Guards in the Class of 2027 who we currently have ranked. Below that is a little analysis on a handful of them as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1006197' first='Rian' last='David'], 2027, 5-9 SG, East Noble H.S.
- Rian popped up on my radar last Spring, and she is a very intriguing talent who I think a lot of the elite small colleges will be interested in, in the future. She is extremely long and wiry, fluidly athletic, and she might even still grow another inch. She is an excellent perimeter shooter when she's able to get set and find rhythm, but she also has a nice IQ for the game and can find open teammates or even attack a little. Defensively, she is best affecting passing lanes with her length, but she is also a willing rebounder.

[player_tooltip player_id='890800' first='Keara' last='Lipscomb-Allen'], 2027, 5-7 SG, McCutcheon H.S.
- Keara transferred into McCutcheon this year from Benton Central and made an instant impact, providing a second scoring option to top-ranked 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='751095' first='Lillie' last='Graves']. Keara is long & wiry, fluid & smooth, plus she has a knack for scoring the ball at odd angles off the drive. She has some touch outside, but that should become more consistent in time, and she is able to create offense for others, though she is still more of a scoring guard. As she finishes growing and getting stronger, look for her to be even more consistent.

[player_tooltip player_id='756243' first='Macy' last='Loy'], 2027, 5-9 SG, North Central H.S. (Indianapolis)
- Macy had a solid year for North Central, but I look for her to be a breakout candidate heading into her third Varsity season. She has a solid to strong, athletic frame, with some length. She entered high school as an effective shooter/scorer but has really worked to develop her handle and become an all-around playmaker. At times, she almost looks like she's waiting for "permission", and I think once she's aggressive all the time, she could be a mid to high teens scorer at NCHS. She's also a versatile wing defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='1137334' first='Claire' last='Samples'], 2027, 5-7 SG, South Ripley H.S.
- Claire is still a bit of an unknown on a statewide level, but she is well-known by South Ripley opponents. She is long, wiry, and fairly smooth athletically. She likes to use the dribble to get defenders off-balance and slice to the basket. She can knock down an open rhythm 3-pointer, but I think as she gets stronger, her perimeter shot will become much more accurate. Defensively, she's able to use her length and ability to defend on or off the ball, plus she's working to be more of a ball-handler/facilitator.
