The Spring has arrived, and it's time for us to update the prospect rankings in all four graduating classes currently enrolled in high school. For the Class of 2027, this is a huge time in their careers, as it's the last time they will play a grassroots season in front of college coaches. The overall list (rankings & watch list included) has expanded from 185 total prospects to 200 total prospects. With that said, below is a look at all of the power forward prospects in the Class of 2027. Below the rankings chart are some quick updates on a handful of uncommitted prospects.

For those unfamiliar with Chesney, she has had a strong 3-year career thus far for Charlestown, but she was specifically outstanding as a Junior in 2025-2026. Next up for her is playing at a higher level than she ever has this Spring & Summer against good competition that should allow her to display her abilities in front of coaches. She is strong, long, and athletic, she plays with an outstanding motor, and she is a relentless rebounder. She is great in the mid-post, where she has touch and the ability to attack, but she is working to be more comfortable around the perimeter as well.

Elyssa is a real talent, and for those people who like to look at statistics alone and not understand a situation, she could have a "breakout" year for Pike next season. This year, she was behind two NCAA Division-I recruits on one of the deepest teams in the state. She has tremendous length, she's a really nice athlete in most directions, and she has the combination of a nice back-to-the-basket game and a mid-post jumper that keep defenders honest. She is very good defensively as well, where she uses her length and bounce to block/alter several shots. Plus she can outrun most matchups in transition.

Jocelyn is still somewhat of a hidden talent, so this could be a big Spring & Summer for her as well. She has good size, some strength, nice length, and she's a solid athlete in most directions. She has some ball skill and can put it on the floor and get somewhere productively, plus she has the vision to find open teammates like a point forward. She has some touch from around the perimeter and can keep defenses honest outside as well. I really enjoy watching her when she uses her whole bag of tricks and dominates smaller defenders inside, but then flashes her skill outside.

When I saw Claudia during the Summer of 2024, I thought maybe she would eventually have a big impact on Columbia City's Varsity roster, and this year as a Junior, she seemed to take off. She is a long, wiry-strong, very bouncy, active, and athletic forward. She plays with a really nice motor and a lot of energy, and she is an effective rebounder because she has a nose for the ball. Defensively, she can sit down and defend wings and some bigger guards as well. Offensively, she's great in the mid-post, and she can drive it a little from the perimeter. I am anxious to see her again very soon.
